After McGregor claimed that Usman was trying to mimic him with the activity and green panty night line, Abdelaziz went on TMZ Sports to slam the Irishman. According to the manager, he believes McGregor is too scared to move up in weight to fight Usman if he really has a problem with him.

The first time they fought at UFC 178 in September 2014, it was a featherweight contest and McGregor sparked Poirier with a first-round KO. The two rivals met seven years later at lightweight just a few months ago at UFC 257. This time around, Poirier weathered the early storm and stormed back for a second-round knockout win. The trilogy fight figures to be one of the biggest fights in UFC history. For McGregor, it’s another chance to add to his legacy, while for Poirier a win would put him in legend territory. It’s a massive fight and one that is very difficult to predict.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor blasted welterweight kingpin Kamaru Usman over his use of the term “green panty night.” McGregor is of course the originator of the term “red panty night,” a term he coined during a press conference in 2016 to promote his fight against Rafael dos Anjos, a fight that never materialized. On Wednesday, the promotional superstar took to his social media to take a shot at Usman recently saying that fighting him is “green panty night” to Jorge Masvidal.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor relived the Marcus Brimage knockout exactly eight years after making his promotional debut at UFC on FUEL TV 9. It was April 6, 2013, when McGregor stepped into the Octagon for the first time against Brimage. At the time, the Irishman was both the Cage Warriors lightweight and featherweight champion and he came into the UFC with a great deal of hype. The fans who had watched him compete in Europe knew that he was a special talent and they wanted to see him get tested against tougher competition. So when the UFC called and brought McGregor on board, it was a massive deal. He accepted the UFC’s offer to fight Brimage, an Ultimate Fighter veteran who was 3-0 in the Octagon, and McGregor never looked back.

Conor McGregor is going back to his roots ahead of his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. At UFC 257, McGregor suffered a second-round TKO loss to Dustin Poirier. Given they are 1-1 against one another, they both called for the trilogy to happen, which will happen in July.

That was a massive win for Chandler, and he will return to the Octagon on May 15 when he meets Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 262 with the lightweight title on the line. Thompson (16-4-1 MMA) is coming off of back-to-back unanimous decision victories over perennial division contenders Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque in his most recent Octagon appearances. ‘Wonderboy’ has gone 3-3 over his past six fight overall.

Dustin Poirier is doing some training with 4x World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw ahead of his trilogy fight with Conor McGregor at UFC 264. Poirier and McGregor are set to have their rubber match at 155-pounds on July 10 in Las Vegas. The pair split their first two encounters, with Conor earning a first round knockout at UFC 178, and then Dustin most recently earning a second round KO victory at UFC 257.

UFC fan favorite Nate Diaz clapped back at promotional superstar Conor McGregor, telling him to “try not to get finished again.” It was revealed on Tuesday evening that Diaz will be returning to the UFC on May 15 at UFC 262 in Houston, Texas when he takes on Leon Edwards in a No. 1 contender fight in the UFC welterweight division. On Wednesday, McGregor took to his social media to suggest that the promotion creates a “McGregor belt” for his upcoming trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, clearly a jab at the “BMF belt” that Diaz and Jorge Masvidal fought for at UFC 244 in November 2019. That, in turn, led to Diaz taking to his social media and clapping back at McGregor and poking fun at him for getting finished.

We have known for a few weeks now that the UFC plans on booking McGregor vs. Poirier 3 in the wake of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement from MMA, but it’s getting closer to the point of both men putting ink to paper. We heard recently that the July 10 date for the fight seemed likely, and now we have a name for the event as UFC 264 is what it will be called. According to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the trilogy between McGregor and Poirier is close to being booked and could be finalized this week.

UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje could be the backup fighter for the upcoming trilogy match between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. Gaethje has been extremely vocal lately about his displeasure with the UFC passing him over for a potential vacant lightweight title shot at UFC 262. Instead of Gaethje getting the fight, Michael Chandler is fighting Charles Oliveira for the vacant title in May, and Gaethje wasn’t happy about it. “The Highlight” recently said in an emotional interview that he believes he’s done everything that UFC president Dana White wanted of him, and he was sad to hear that the promotion passed on giving him the title shot over Chandler instead.
