Michael Chandler is reacting after Conor McGregor claimed that the UFC is no longer interested in matching them up. Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) has not fought since UFC 264 in July of 2021 when he broke his leg in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier (29-8 MMA).

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler may not happen after all. With McGregor getting closer to a return after breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier, he was booked to coach TUF 31 against Chandler with the two expected to fight later. However, the fight has yet to be announced or agreed to as McGregor is still not in the USADA testing pool.

Scoring a first-round knockout win, was enough for the Brazilian to earn a second crack against Islam Makhachev. Last October, Charles Oliveira was defeated by the Russian in a battle for vacant lightweight gold.

The former double-champion broke his leg in the final seconds of the first round, prompting him to be on the shelf for over two years. During that time, Conor McGregor famously left USADA to recover from the injury.

After Poirier suffered a headkick KO loss at UFC 291, he spoke to Ariel Helwani on Monday and Helwani claimed Poirier didn’t need the BMF belt and was already a Hall of Famer. However, Conor McGregor doesn’t think that is the case at all as he says all Poirier has is one lucky win over him. Outside of that, he hasn’t won a UFC title and doesn’t have the resume to be a Hall of Famer.
