Dana White has confirmed speculation that a deal is in the works with Floyd Mayweather. Last month, rumours surfaced that the retired boxer would be making a cross-over into MMA. The undefeated 42-year old experienced an MMA clash first hand when he faced the UFC former two-division champion, Conor McGregor in a boxing bout. Mayweather won the 2017 bout by TKO and hasn’t fought since. However, last month he revealed that he has two fights planned for 2020 including a UFC cross-over bout. Rumours were bolstered as photos showed Mayweather sitting at a Basketball game accompanied by Dana White.

However, that wasn’t enough to bolster a UK following as the event received shocking UK PPV numbers. Approximately 12,000 people attended the KSI vs Logan Paul rematch that took place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The October 9th fight was a rematch of the Youtuber’s 2018 fight which resulted in a draw. KSI won their second fight by a controversial split decision victory.

Boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez is not happy that streaming platform DAZN delayed the start to his recent match against Sergey Kovalev in order to wait for the UFC 244 BMF belt bout between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz to finish first. DAZN made the controversial decision to delay the Alvarez vs. Kovalev fight in order to wait for the result of Masvidal vs. Diaz. It was a decision that brought on plenty of criticism of DAZN, who was accused of pandering to the UFC despite Alvarez being arguably the most highly-paid and important figure in the world of combat sports right now.

The only fights in his 11-year professional boxing career that went the distance were his split draw against Tyson Fury in 2018 and his unanimous decision win over Bermane Stiverne in 2015.

ESPN’s Dan Rafael confirmed that the fight is officially set for the date of February 22. The location is not finalized yet, but ESPN reports that the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is the leading candidate to host the bout.
