The Octagon returns to Boston for tonight’s UFC 292 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Aljamain Sterling vs. Sean O’Malley. O’Malley (16-1 MMA) will be fighting for UFC gold for the first time this evening in Boston. ‘Suga’ is coming off a split decision win over former bantamweight champion Petr Yan in his most recent Octagon appearance, which occurred at UFC 280 in October of last year. Prior to that, the 28-year-old went toe-to-toe with Pedro Munhoz in a bout that was ultimately ruled a no-contest due to an accidental eye poke.

Max Holloway is disappointed in the government as the wildfires in Hawaii have raged on. Wildfires started to take over Maui and the death total reached over 110 with thousands of people missing. To make matters worse, Hawaii has one of the largest siren warning systems in the world, but the 80 alarms on Maui, stayed silent. Many citizens were confused as to why the sirens never went off and Max Holloway believes that is just one of the many things the government did to fail the people.

Josh Fremd says he was embarrassed he missed weight at UFC Vegas 78. Fremd was taking on Jamie Pickett on the final fight of his UFC contract, which was a massive scrap for him. Fremd knew if he lost he would be cut, but on weigh-in day, Fremd says he was struggling to lose the final pounds and even ended up dry heaving to try during his weight cut.

Chris Weidman is a bit disappointed he is fighting on the UFC 292 prelims. Weidman is set to make his highly-anticipated return to the Octagon after breaking his leg during his fight against Uriah Hall at UFC 261 in April 2021. Since then, he has been rehabbing and had multiple surgeries to return and vowed he would fight again. He’s now set to return at UFC 292 against Brad Tavares but is the prelim headliner which he says is a bit disrespectful.
