It was just last night, Thursday, June 13th that UFC CEO Dana White announced the much-anticipated welterweight bout between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler was off for UFC 303.

Whittaker was set to headline the card next Saturday against Chimaev, but on Thursday, rumors started to swirl that the undefeated fighter would be out. However, according to Whittaker, he didn’t know Chimaev was out until the UFC informed him the fight was off.

UFC star Khamzat Chimaev’s manager has released a statement on his withdrawal from the UFC Saudi Arabia main event. It’s been a turbulent few days for the UFC, to say the least. The promotion has been forced to shift around a parade of big fights and events, including the main event of UFC Saudi Arabia. Originally, we were supposed to see Khamzat Chimaev go one on one with Robert Whittaker. Unfortunately, that’ll no longer happen.

It was reported on Thursday that Chimaev, who is unbeaten in his UFC tenure, has withdrawn from his upcoming June 22 clash against Robert Whitaker.
