UFC standouts Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor renewed their long-standing rivalry on Sunday afternoon exchanging numerous jabs on social media. Diaz and McGregor of course have a long and storied history having fought two times in the past at UFC 196 and UFC 202. In the pairs first encounter, ‘The Stockton Native’ weathered an early storm from the Irishman before turning tide and putting Conor away with a rear-naked choke in round two.
Mike Perry details his sparring session with Jake Paul

UFC welterweight fan favorite Mike Perry admitted that Jake Paul caught him with some good shots when they recently had a sparring session. On Sunday, UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier took to his social media to say that he hoped that Paul would fight Perry next. Paul then responded to Poirier as he posted a video of him and Perry doing some sparring, with “Platinum” being heard telling Jake that he kicked his ass during their session. The two have done some sparring in preparation for this fight but typically, you don’t tell the public what happened in those sparring sessions. In this case, Paul posted the video with the words coming out of Perry’s mouth, so it was hard for “Platinum” to deny that it happened. Instead, Perry embraced what Paul had tweeted.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has reacted to the controversial commentary work performed by Oscar de la Hoya during his boxing match. Mir fought Steve Cunningham in his professional boxing debut on the undercard of the Ben Askren vs. Jake Paul Triller Fight Club pay-per-view card on Saturday night. Although Mir put up a solid effort by going the distance against an opponent who had far more experience than he did, he still ended up getting the decision loss. But what more people were talking about besides Mir’s performance in the fight was de la Hoya’s commentary during it. It appeared as though de la Hoya was under the influence as he made a number of comments during the fight that led to fans taking to their social media to complain about the boxing legend.

Conor McGregor put Jeff Novitzky and the UFC on blast shortly after accusing his longtime rival Nate Diaz of being on steroids. Earlier this morning the former two-division champion, McGregor (22-5 MMA), took to Twitter where he questioned UFC executive Jeff Novitzky while attempting to smear Nate Diaz.

Entering the scrap, many expected Shahbazyan to get an early KO, and so too did the rising star. However, after the first round, he began to gas out and suffered a third-round TKO loss.

Even though Paul doesn’t get a ton of respect from the combat sports community, everyone knows that he is a huge name and a big draw. At this point, Paul is one of the biggest stars in combat sports just three fights into his boxing career. If you are lucky enough to get booked to fight against Paul, then you stand to make a lot of money.

Paul fought Ben Askren in the main event of the Triller Fight Club boxing match on Saturday night. It turned out to be an easy night at the office for Paul, as he finished Askren in the first minute of the fight with a knockout. For Paul, it was the type of big-name win that will surely lead to him coaxing other MMA fighters and boxers into accepting a fight against him. Considering how much money Askren made to take a punch in the fight, it would stand to figure that there are many other fighters who are interested in fighting Paul next. But if it was up to Paul, one of the names he would want is Diaz.

Askren made his professional boxing debut on Saturday night when he took on Paul in the main event of the latest Triller Fight Club pay-per-view. The fight ended quickly in the first round as Paul caught Askren with a big right hand and put him on the canvas. It was a highlight-reel finish, for sure, and also one of those fights where everyone had their own reaction to seeing Askren go down.

Namajunas’ recent comments led to a lot of media coverage after a clip of her talking about communism. As part of the comments, Namajunas took a shot at Zhang. The two meet next weekend at UFC 261 for the UFC women’s strawweight title currently held by Zhang. Ahead of the fight, Zhang’s strength and conditioning coach, Ruben Yana Jr., spoke to SCMP MMA and he responded to the recent comments that Namajunas made.

Paul knocked out Ben Askren in the main event of the Triller Fight Club boxing card on Saturday night. It was the third straight knockout win for Paul in boxing, and for his next fight, there have been a number of MMA fighters who have asked for it to be them. Names such as Tyron Woodley, Dillon Danis, and Conor McGregor are some of the MMA fighters who have been suggested for a potential matchup with Paul. But if you ask Poirier, the fight that makes the most sense for him is to book Paul against UFC welterweight Mike Perry.

Pro fighters took to social media and blasted the idea of Bellator star Dillon Danis being Jake Paul’s next opponent inside the boxing ring. Danis was one of a handful of pro fighters who put their hands up to say they want to fight Paul after he knocked out Ben Askren in a highly-anticipated boxing match on Triller. You can criticize him for his choice of opponents so far, but overall it was a tremendous performance by Paul yet again. Considering how much money and eyeballs he brings to the table, it’s not a surprise seeing how many other fighters are interesting in facing him next.

Amy Askren reacted after her husband Ben Askren was knocked out by Jake Paul in his professional boxing debut on Saturday night. Askren was floored by a massive right hand from Paul which dropped him to the mat and left him on wobbly legs. The referee felt that Askren was finished and stopped the fight just over a minute into the first round, handing Paul his quickest victory to date. For Askren, it was a poor performance as he suffered a quick KO loss to a YouTuber. But at the end of the day, Askren made a lot of money (a reported $500,000) for this fight and he still gets to go home with his wife Amy and the rest of their family. So even though it seemed like Askren was the biggest loser on Saturday night, it could be argued he was a big winner.

Paul knocked out Ben Askren in devastating fashion on Saturday night during a highly-anticipated boxing event promoted by the Triller app. Paul landed a monster right hand just a minute into the fight and the referee waved off the fight after Askren’s legs went wobbly. It was a solid performance by Paul, to be sure, and it’s the kind of big-name win that should set him up with another big name in his next outing. Following the fight, Paul opened up about the stoppage in the match. UFC middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum issued a statement following his unanimous decision loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC Vegas 24. Gastelum stepped up on short notice to fight Whittaker on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 24, filling in for Paulo Costa. Whittaker and Gastelum previously coached TUF 28: Heavy Hitters and so they have trained for each other in the past. On Saturday, they finally met inside the Octagon, and the fight didn’t go as planned for Gastelum, as he just wasn’t as competitive as many expected him to be. Instead, Whittaker dominated the fight from bell-to-bell and won 50-45 on the judges’ scorecards. It was a fantastic performance by the Aussie, while for Gastelum it was a tough loss after he beat Ian Heinisch in his last fight.

Robert Whittaker responded after UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya referred to him as his “son” following a win over Kelvin Gastelum. Whittaker won a lopsided unanimous decision over Gastelum in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 24 card. The Aussie was able to outstrike Gastelum on the feet and also take him down and control him with his wrestling as he won his third straight fight inside the Octagon. It was a big win for Whittaker and it should put him in line to fight for the belt in his next fight. Speaking to the media following the event, Whittaker had a message for Adesanya, saying that he wants to fight him this fall in Australia.

After talking a big game in the lead-up to the fight, Askren suffered a first-round knockout loss on Saturday night after Paul landed a massive right hand that floored “Funky.” The referee would not let Askren continue in the fight and stopped it, giving Paul the first-round victory. Following the event, Askren spoke to the media and opened up on the loss. When asked if he felt like he let the MMA community down, Askren took it a step further, suggesting that he actually let the entire world down by not finding a way to beat Paul.
