Fights broke out in the crowd during Sunday’s Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley event, and you can see the videos of what happened with the fans. Paul, the former Disney star and YouTube star, participated in his fourth pro boxing match against Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion who was making his debut in the sweet science. The fight, which served as the co-main event of the evening, was closely fought for eight rounds but ultimately it was Paul taking home a narrow split decision. In addition to Paul vs. Woodley, the main card also featured four other fights. But there were also a number of fights that broke out in the crowd between the alcohol-fueled fans.

Paul defeated Woodley via split decision in his native Cleveland, Ohio to improve to a perfect 4-0 as a professional boxer. Not only has Paul been winning his fights, but he has also been selling out arenas and doing huge numbers of pay-per-view. For a guy who most people thought was just a Disney star and a YouTuber two years ago, to see what he has done in the fight game since then has been pretty astonishing to watch, and Paul knows it.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 35, top-10 featherweights collided as Giga Chikadze took on Edson Barboza in an anticipated bout. Chikadze entered the fight coming off a first-round TKO win over Cub Swanson which was the first big win of his UFC career. Prior to that, he was beating unranked fighters but did go 4-0 in 2020 to start to make a name for himself. Barboza, meanwhile, had a highlight-reel KO over Shane Burgos last time out and was looking to prove he’s a future featherweight title contender.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul says that his latest opponent, Tyron Woodley, was a harder fight than UFC superstar Conor McGregor would be. Paul defeated Woodley via split decision on Sunday night in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a closely-contested boxing match that went the full eight-round distance, but Paul did a little bit more during the fight and earned the split nod on the scorecards. With Paul now having a big win over Woodley on his resume, it will give him the extra ammunition needed in order to capture the interest of the biggest-named fighters in the sport. And of course, the biggest out there right now is arguably McGregor, so he against Paul would be a big fight.

UFC welterweight Mike Perry says he wants to focus on boxing, calling out pro boxer Tommy Fury and saying that “I’m down to stand and bang.” Perry, a UFC fan-favorite, is currently in the midst of a rough stretch during his MMA career. He is just 3-7 over his last 10 fights in the Octagon, including a 1-4 record in his last five fights. Moreover, Perry recently declined to fight Kevin Lee, which led to “The Motown Phenom” suggesting that “Platinum” should be removed from the UFC roster. Although Perry is currently in the midst of a losing skid, he is still a personal favorite of UFC president Dana White, which means that, like Sam Alvey, Perry will get another fight.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor reacted following the split decision verdict in the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley boxing match on Sunday night. Paul defeated Woodley via split decision in a closely fought fight between the former YouTuber and the former UFC welterweight champion. It was a competitive match for the eight rounds that it went, but ultimately Paul did a little bit more and won the decision. Now that Paul got his hand raised and has a big name like Woodley on his resume, it just might give him the ammunition he needs to attract even bigger names in the fight game going forward. And there is arguably not a bigger name in combat sports than McGregor.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley issued a statement following his split decision loss to Jake Paul, saying to “run it back!” Woodley and Paul fought for eight rounds in the main event of the Showtime boxing PPV card on Sunday night in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a close, competitive fight, but at the end of the eight rounds, the judges reached a split verdict and gave the decision win to Paul. Woodley, however, is adamant that he won the fight and he told Paul in the ring following the decision that he wants to have a rematch against him. Taking to his social media following the fight, Woodley once again called for a rematch against Paul, while asking why there was no drug testing and suggesting it was sketchy fighting in Paul’s native Cleveland.

Barboza suffered a third-round knockout defeat to Chikadze in the main event of UFC Vegas 35. Although Barboza was the slight favorite heading into the bout on the basis of his UFC experience and a higher level of competition, Chikadze had a true break-out performance as he picked up the seventh win of his UFC career with the knockout defeat.

The November UFC 268 pay-per-view card was officially announced and the event is absolutely stacked, with Dana White gushing over it. During Saturday’s UFC Vegas 35 card, the first seven fights for UFC 268 were officially announced. Check out the card below as it is incredibly stacked with two title fights at the top of the docket. The first features the rematch between UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, then there is a rematch between UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and Weili Zhang. In addition to those fights, Justin Gaethje vs. Michael Chandler, Sean Strickland vs. Luke Rockhold, Frankie Edgar vs. Marlon Vera, Germaine de Randamie vs. Irene Aldana, and Bobby Green vs. Al Iaquinta were also added to the card. On paper, this is one of the best PPVs the UFC has put on in years.

UFC president Dana White gushes over featherweight Giga Chikadze following his highlight-reel finish over Edson Barboza at UFC Vegas 35. Chikadze won his seventh straight fight in the UFC and improved to a perfect 7-0 in the promotion with the brilliant third-round TKO victory over Barboza in the UFC Vegas 35 headliner. Coming into the fight, the biggest question mark about Chikadze was how he would fare if he fought another elite fighter in the UFC, given that he had a somewhat soft schedule on the way to the top-10. However, Chikadze proved beyond a doubt that he is one of the best fighters in the world at 145lbs with his brilliant knockout win over Barboza.

UFC middleweight Alessio Di Chirico reacted following his devastating head kick KO loss to Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Vegas 35. Di Chirico was a big betting favorite heading into the fight with Alhassan on the heels of his own flashy head-kick KO over Joaquin Buckley earlier this year. However, the Italian was upset quickly in the first round when Alhassan landed a brutal head kick that knocked him out cold. On Sunday night, Paul steps into the boxing ring for the fourth time against Woodley, who is making his professional boxing debut. Speaking to MMAFighting.com’s Damon Martin before the big fight, Bisping was asked to make a prediction on how he believes Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, will fare against Paul. According to Bisping, the former UFC middleweight champion, as much as he wants Woodley to win, he can’t see it.

Middleweight veteran Sam Alvey will likely get another chance in the Octagon despite his rough losing skid, said UFC president Dana White. Alvey lost a controversial split decision to Wellington Turman on the UFC Vegas 35 preliminary card. The controversy came because, in the third round of the fight, Turman lost two points for repeated eye pokes. However, two of the judges still thought that Turman won all three rounds of the fight, so despite having two points deducted, he won 28-27, 27-28, and 28-27 on the scorecards for a split decision victory over Alvey.

Former women’s 115lbs champion Carla Esparza reacted after being snubbed of getting the next UFC strawweight title shot at UFC 268. Following her vicious finish over Yan Xiaonan back in May, Esparza was rightfully considered the No. 1 contender by most fans and media after racking up five straight wins. However, the UFC instead decided that former champ Weili Zhang deserved an immediate title shot after getting knocked out with a head kick by Rose Namajunas at UFC 268. Instead of Esparza getting the next title shot against Namajunas, the UFC announced this weekend that Zhang is going to get the next crack at the belt at November’s UFC 268 card.

UFC president Dana White has cast doubt on Kevin Lee continuing to fight under the UFC banner following his latest loss inside the Octagon. Lee lost a unanimous decision to Daniel Rodriguez on the UFC Vegas 35 undercard on Saturday night. For Lee, this was his first fight back in the Octagon since losing to Charles Oliveira in March 2020. After losing to Rodriguez, Lee dropped to just 2-5 overall in his last seven fights, including a winless mark of 0-2 while competing as a welterweight. Because Lee has had such a poor record as of late, there is no guarantee that the UFC keeps him around the world’s leading MMA promotion going forward, according to White himself.
