Chael Sonnen has opened up on the current health of his friend and Bellator fighter Cris Lencioni. Lencioni is 11-3 as a pro and is 6-2 in Bellator and has won four straight fights. He is slated for arguably the biggest fight of his career as he’s supposed to take on James Gallagher at Bellator 298 on August 11. However, in preparation for the fight, Lencioni was training and reportedly lost consciousness, Sonnen revealed.

Bellator Bantamweight Champion Sergio Pettis wasn’t sure of his abilities to defeat Patricio “Pitbull” Freire. Sergio Pettis put the 135-pound gold on the line against Pitbull Freire in the co-main event of Bellator 297. The title fight was held inside the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Pitbull Freire was attempting to win Bellator gold in a third weight class.

UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya recalls being detained in a New York City airport. Israel Adesanya put the 185-pound gold on the line against Alex Pereira at UFC 281. The title fight was held inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. Israel Adesanya suffered a fifth-round TKO loss, losing the middleweight title in the process. “The Last Stylebender” got the championship back from Pereira by scoring a brutal second-round knockout win over in their MMA rematch at UFC 287.

Robert Whittaker has shared his initial response to Jared Cannonier’s unanimous decision victory over Marvin Vettori at UFC Vegas 75. Jared Cannonier vs. Marvin Vettori headlined UFC Vegas 75 inside the UFC Apex. This showdown in the state of Nevada went all five rounds. Cannonier’s relentless pressure on the feet gave Vettori problems all night. The damage on Marvin Vettori’s face was apparent. The striking of Jared Cannonier was crisp and he looked like a serious middleweight contender.

You can forget about that Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva retirement. Bigfoot Silva initially announced that he’d be walking away from pro MMA competition. This was after he suffered his 11th loss in a row. He dropped a decision against Salim El Ouassaidi at Kingdom Fighting 1. After the fight, Bigfoot Silva put his gloves down in the middle of the cage and said goodbye to the sport.

Jared Cannonier has no interest in facing Khamzat Chimaev if one key stipulation isn’t in place. Jared Cannonier took the headlining spot on the UFC Vegas 75 card. He went one-on-one with Marvin Vettori. Cannonier’s powerful striking was on display. While he couldn’t finish his very tough opponent, Jared Cannonier did leave visible damage on Marvin Vettori’s face by the time the fight ended. The decision was clear as well, and Cannonier had his hand raise when the dust settled.

Michael Chandler continues to get called out by Arman Tsarukyan. The number eight-ranked UFC lightweight has been calling for a showdown with “Iron” Michael Chandler for a few months now. Arman Tsarukyan hasn’t taken his attention off “The Ultimate Fighter” season 31 coach. Following his third-round TKO victory over Joaquim Silva at UFC Vegas 75, Arman Tsarukyan once again fired shots at Michael Chandler on Twitter.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 75 event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Marvin Vettori vs. Jared Cannonier. The highly anticipated middleweight main event proved to be a coming out party for the 39-year-old Cannonier. After being rocked early in the opening round, ‘The Killa Gorilla’ went to put on the performance of his life for the remainder of the fight. Cannonier set a new UFC middleweight record for significant strikes landed, beating down Vettori for the final four rounds of the contest. ‘The Italian Dream’ showed off his heart and incredible chin but was clearly no match for Jared Cannonier this evening.

Kyle Nelson couldn’t be happier with how UFC 289 played out. The Octagon returned to Canada for the first time since 2019 on June 10th, as the promotion headed to Vancouver for UFC 289. On the card were five Canadians – six if you include Diana Belbita who calls Canada home – but many, including Kyle Nelson were the betting underdogs.

Tonight, the light heavyweight main event featured champion Vadim Nemkov taking on Yoel Romero at Bellator 297 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. After a delay to begin the Bellator 297 preliminary portion, the card cruised through with five fights in a little over an hour, plus the highly-anticipated three-main card fights to lead into the main event. Nemkov entered the contest 8-0 in Bellator with three finishes by KO/TKO, as his most recent win came against Corey Anderson back in November, which also took place in Chicago.

Sergio Pettis and Patricio Pitbull locked horns in tonight’s Bellator 297 co-main event at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. Arguably the two best non-UFC lighter-weight fighters, Pettis and Pitbull were unifying their respective titles, with the winner earning the bantamweight title and a matchup with interim champion Patchy Mix. Mix had stated during an impromptu media availability Saturday night that he looked forward to watching the fight as a fan and is excited for whoever he gets to face next. Pettis was returning to the Bellator cage after nursing a knee injury, while Pitbull entered the contest sporting a 35-5 record, having fought the likes of Michael Chandler, Juan Archuleta, and AJ McKee, to name a few.
