MMA fighter Akmal Khozhiev charged with aggravated murder of doctor in Guam

MMA fighter Akmal Khozhiev was charged with the aggravated murder of a doctor in Guam after allegedly stabbing him following an argument. According to the Pacific Daily News, “Khozhiev, 27, was charged with aggravated murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Guam Memorial Hospital radiologist Dr. Miran Ribati, 44, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed by the Office of the Attorney General.” According to the report, the murder was a result of an argument between the two parties over vaccinations. Khoziev reportedly admitted his guilt already to the police, telling them that “I killed him” while he was covered in blood when police found him. Ribati was declared deceased at the scene of the crime.

UFC women’s flyweight Andrea Lee has made a major move up the official fighter rankings following her latest victory at UFC Vegas 42. Lee smashed Cynthia Calvillo in a preliminary card bout that took place at this past weekend’s UFC Vegas 42 card. It was an incredible performance by Lee, who was able to utilize her striking attack to pick apart Calvillo and eventually force a corner stoppage in between the second and third rounds. It was arguably the best performance of Lee’s career, and it was her second straight win following a submission win over Antonina Shevchenko in her last fight. With back-to-back finishes now, the UFC rankings saw Lee make a major move as she is now No. 7 in the weight class, having moved up five spots.

Max Holloway praised Yair Rodriguez following war at UFC Vegas 42, saying that he’s “looking forward to your championship reign one day.” Holloway and Rodriguez went toe-to-toe for five rounds in an all-out war that headlined this past Saturday’s UFC Vegas 42 card. It was one of the best fights of the year, but at the end of the five rounds, Holloway was the winner via unanimous decision. However, it was one of those fights where the stock of both men went up. For Holloway, it could be the win that earns him another title shot at 145lbs, while for Rodriguez this performance should be enough to keep him ranked in the top-five at 145lbs. Overall, it was just an amazing fight.

He said that he enjoyed watching it and then he defended Covington’s personality, suggesting that he is just plating a character inside the Octagon.

UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski sent a daunting message to Max Holloway, saying “stop playing the games and all the bullsh*t.” Volkanovski was watching intently last Saturday at UFC Vegas 42 when Holloway and Yair Rodriguez met in the five-round headliner. It was an absolute war, but at the end of the 25 minutes, it was Holloway who got his hand raised by unanimous decision. Fans and media were expecting Holloway to call out Volkanovski given that he had a close loss to him last year on Fight Island, but “Blessed” instead listed several opponents. He mentioned Volkanovski as an option, but he also brought up Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira.
