Alex Pereira plans to put on a great performance to reclaim his light heavyweight title against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320. Pereira suffered a decision loss to Ankalaev earlier this year to lose his title, and he’s getting an immediate rematch. Although the first fight wasn’t too close, Pereira is confident that he has all the tools to pull off the upset and reclaim his belt.

A new bout has been added to the UFC 322 card. RMC Sports Combat first brought word that a 155-pound tilt between Beneil Dariush and Benoit Saint Denis has been booked for the Nov. 15 card. For Saint Denis, it’s a chance to make his way to the top 10 rankings. As for Dariush, he wants to keep his hold at the No. 9 spot against the No. 13-ranked Saint Denis.

Wanderlei Silva was brutally knocked out following a disqualification loss this past weekend, and the attacker has explained his actions. Silva was disqualified in his Spaten Fight Night 2 main event against Acelino Freitas. “The Axe Murderer” headbutted Freitas, which enraged his opponent’s corner. A brawl took place once the fight was over and Silva was knocked out cold by a man who ended up being Freitas’ son, Rafael.

When Vitor Belfort pulled out with an injury, Silva’s new opponent was Acelino Freitas. Things took a bad turn when Silva was disqualified for multiple fouls. A melee between both teams ensued and it ended with Silva being knocked out cold. The man who put Silva to sleep has been identified as Freitas’ son, Rafael.

Manager: Jake Matthews to appeal controversial UFC Perth loss

Jake Matthews and his team will be filing an appeal following his controversial third-round submission loss to Neil Magny at UFC Perth. Late in the first round, Matthews sunk in a guillotine choke, and with one second left, the ref stopped the fight. However, Magny popped right back up and protested, which led to the ref ruling he never actually stopped the fight, and that the bout would continue. Matthews had a solid second round, but Magny rallied and submitted the Aussie in the third round for a comeback win, which resulted in plenty of controversy.
