UFC CEO Dana White isn’t keen on the idea of Alex Pereira moving up to heavyweight to potentially cement himself into the history books. Pereira defeated former titleholder Jiří Procházka in the UFC 303 main event on Saturday night in Las Vegas. Just seconds into the second round, Pereira caught Procházka with a head kick to retain the belt.

Pereira finished Procházka just 13 seconds into the second round in the UFC 303 main event. The light heavyweight titleholder landed a massive head kick that floored Procházka as he retained the UFC title.

UFC president Dana White has admitted that he was completely wrong with his initial assessment of Alex Pereira. Last night, Alex Pereira grew his legend even further. Just a few months on from his decisive victory at UFC 300, the man known as ‘Poatan’ knocked out Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303. As a result, he successfully retained the UFC light heavyweight championship for the second time. Since that switch kick landed, the masses have been heaping praise onto the Brazilian’s shoulders – and rightfully so.

He knocked out Jiri Prochazka for the second time, successfully retaining his UFC light heavyweight championship in the process. He did so on short notice, saving the card after Conor McGregor was forced to withdraw due to a broken toe.

The highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight rematch resulted in yet another knockout victory for the amazing sensation Alex Pereira. ‘Poatan’ scored a big knockdown in the final second of the opening round and Jiri Prochazka clearly never recovered. In the opening seconds of round two, the Brazilian landed a big head kick which sent the former RIZIN champ crashing to the canvas. From there, Pereira followed up with some heavy ground and pound which forced the referee to step in and stop the contest (see that here).
