Former UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan wants another crack at Sean O’Malley. ‘No Mercy’ is fresh off his return to the octagon last month in Macau, China. Back for the first time since halting Song Yadong’s rise in March, Petr Yan met Deiveson Figueiredo. For his part, the former flyweight champion was undefeated since moving to bantamweight last year, recently beating Marlon Vera in August.

Michael Chiesa was hoping to get one more fight in 2024 and he got his wish. After Chiesa submitted Tony Ferguson, the goal was to return in December. He ended up getting his wish as he will face Max Griffin on Saturday night at UFC 310.

Tom Aspinall believes he knows why Jon Jones hasn’t publicly shown interest in fighting him. Fans have been pounding the table for some clarity in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Jones is the heavyweight titleholder, but Aspinall holds interim gold and has even defended his championship. Following Jones’ own successful title defense at UFC 309, he wouldn’t commit to a title unification bout against Aspinall.

One former UFC icon believes Aljamain Sterling and Chris Weidman aren’t gung-ho over being on the UFC 310 prelims. UFC 310 is coming up this Saturday. It’ll be the UFC’s year-end pay-per-view. Sterling and Weidman will be featured on the card, but not on the PPV. Instead, the “Funk Master” will fight on the ESPN2 prelims, while the “All American” will compete on the early prelims.

Ian Machado Garry believes his fight at UFC 310 this Saturday is the start of not one, but two championship runs. ‘The Future’ has been out of the cage since a clash with former Bellator star Michael Page in June. The bout was viewed as arguably the biggest test of the Irishman’s career thus far, and he passed. However, Ian Machado Garry was forced to showcase his grappling, ultimately earning a unanimous decision victory over the Brit.

Dakota Ditcheva has no plans of leaving the PFL for the UFC just yet. ‘Dangerous’ returned to the cage over the weekend in Saudi Arabia. On Friday night, Dakota Ditcheva met former UFC title challenger Taila Santos in the finals of the 2024 PFL women’s flyweight tournament. The Brazilian was expected to serve as the undefeated striker’s biggest challenge to date.

Jim Miller isn’t keen on the idea of Donald Cerrone returning to MMA competition after cycling off steroids. “Cowboy’s” comeback plan has been a hot topic within the MMA community. Cerrone initially retired back in 2022 after being submitted by Miller. More recently, the former UFC title challenger posted a video on social media revealing his plans to fight again. He also revealed that he’ll need to get off the juice in order to be eligible to compete.

Plans changed when the 170-pound title holder suffered a foot infection.
