Tonight’s UFC 313 main card lineup kicked off with a lightweight bout between Mauricio Ruffy and King Green. Ruffy (12-1 MMA) had gone a perfect 2-0 since joining the UFC in May of last year and many pundits have him pegged as a future champion. ‘One Shot’ had most previously competed at November’s UFC 309 event, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over James Llontop. The Brazilian made his Octagon debut at UFC 301, scoring a first-round finish over Jamie Mullarkey.

Green (32-16-1 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since suffering a technical submission loss to Paddy Pimblett at last summer’s UFC 304 event in Manchester. Prior to that setback, ‘King’ was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Jim Miller.

The Octagon moves to T-Mobile Arena for tonight’s UFC 313 event, a ten-bout fight card headlined by Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev. Pereira (12-2 MMA) will be competing for the first time since scoring a fourth-round TKO victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. at October’s UFC 307 event (see that here). That victory marked ‘Poatan’s’ third defense of the 205lbs title, as he previously defeated Jiri Prochazka (twice) and Jamahal Hill.

UFC 313 is down to a total of 10 fights, this after two bouts were canceled at the last minute. The UFC recently shared that a pivotal heavyweight contest between Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev has been scratched due to ‘Razor‘ suffering an illness.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has praised Alex Pereira’s knockout power ahead of the latter’s main event at UFC 313 tonight. In the main event of the evening in Las Vegas, Alex Pereira will defend his UFC light heavyweight championship against Magomed Ankalaev. UFC 313 is shaping up to be a really interesting card and while there are no guarantees, the expectation is that this will serve as the toughest test that ‘Poatan’ has had in the promotion to date.

Dillon Danis has opened up on his training with UFC champion Alex Pereira ahead of his return to the boxing ring. ‘El Jefe’ hasn’t been seen in action since his clash with Logan Paul in October 2023. The bout was Dillon Danis’ first in the boxing ring, and he was badly dominated by ‘The Maverick’. The former Bellator star was outboxed for five rounds, ultimately getting disqualified in the sixth round after failing to secure a takedown on Paul.

Former UFC title challenger Marlon Vera recently went viral for his encounter with a knife-wielding alleged robber. ‘Chito’ hasn’t been seen in the cage since his clash with Deiveson Figueiredo in August. That night in Abu Dhabi saw Marlon Vera suffer a unanimous decision loss to ‘Deus da Guerra’, his second defeat in a row. The former title challenger had previously suffered a loss to Sean O’Malley in his first bid for UFC gold last spring.

Xtreme Couture head coach Eric Nicksick has shared where he feels he went wrong after Sean Strickland’s UFC 312 loss. Strickland fell short in his bid to become a two-time UFC Middleweight Champion in his rematch with Dricus du Plessis. While the two had a highly competitive meeting in their first go-around, Strickland had no answer for “Stillknocks” in their Feb. 8 rematch. It was clear that Strickland and Nicksick were not on the same page throughout the fight.

The UFC 313 weigh-ins are in the books and we officially have ourselves a world title fight. The main event of Saturday’s card will feature a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between titleholder Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev. Both men tipped the scales on Friday and made championship weight. That means the showdown between “Poatan” and Ankalaev will indeed take place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
