As we know, Ronda Rousey is easily one of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts history. She helped put women’s MMA on the map and for a while, she was one of the biggest names in combat sports – and perhaps all of sports. Unfortunately, following losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, she fell off the map, and she also fell out of favor with a lot of fans because of how she responded to those defeats.

He’s insisted that he wants to move up to heavyweight, and while he now once again holds the belt at 205 pounds, it doesn’t appear as if that’s going to put him off chasing this Jones bout.

Joe Rogan isn’t sold on things being much different if Dricus du Plessis ever gets a rematch with Khamzat Chimaev. Du Plessis entered UFC 319 as the UFC Middleweight Champion. He defeated Sean Strickland twice, submitted Israel Adesanya, and stopped Robert Whittaker. It’s an impressive resume for “Stillknocks,” but Chimaev didn’t care about any of it. “Borz” handled business, ragdolling and controlling du Plessis throughout their title fight back in August. Chimaev ultimately scored the unanimous decision victory to capture UFC gold for the first time in his career.

He dominated the likes of Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje, and Dustin Poirier. He also captured UFC gold along the way, and retired with an undefeated record of 29-0.

Khamzat Chimaev is the reigning 185-pound titleholder following a dominant grappling performance against Dricus du Plessis back in August. Nassourdine Imavov made a case for the next middleweight title shot after defeating Caio Borralho at UFC Paris. The winner of the Oct. 18 bout between Reinier de Ridder and Anthony Hernandez also has a chance to secure the next 185-pound title shot.

Many were surprised when it was announced that the UFC and Paramount struck a deal worth $7.7 billion for broadcasting rights. All of the numbered events will air live on Paramount+ annually, as well as all of the “Fight Night” events. UFC CEO Dana White expects four special cards to air on CBS annually.

Over the course of the last few decades, it’s safe to say that Joe Rogan has been one of the voices of mixed martial arts. He was an early advocate of the sport from a young age and from there, he played a big role in helping to bring the sport – and mainly the UFC – into the mainstream. He’s continued to work with the company in a commentary capacity for a long time and as we look ahead to the future, it certainly doesn’t seem as if he’s going to slow down anytime soon.
