UFC President Dana White has responded after former champion Henry Cejudo implied that he is being blackballed by the promotion. Cejudo (16-2 MMA), a former two-division title holder, retired from MMA after defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May of 2020.

Henry Cejudo, after defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 on May 9th, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida, ultimately made the decision to retire. However, after Max Holloway withdrew his name from a trilogy fight with Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 272, Cejudo (16-2 MMA), threw his name into the mix. Apparently a title shot against Volkanovski would be enough to bring ‘Triple C’ out of retirement.

Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo will “100 percent” fight in the UFC again in 2022, says his manager Ali Abdelaziz. Cejudo has been teasing a return to the Octagon for quite some time, and he has generally spent his time on social media calling out UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski for his return to the cage. Speaking to MMAFighting.com in a recent interview, Cejudo’s manager Abdelaziz confirmed that his client Cejudo is set to return to the Octagon in 2022. He believes he will return as a featherweight, but bantamweight is also possible.

UFC analyst Daniel Cormier blasted Henry Cejudo for training with Jon Jones, and “Bones” has responded to the criticism of his former rival. Jones was recently kicked out of Team Jackson-Wink following an alleged domestic battery incident at a hotel in Las Vegas following his Hall of Fame induction ceremony back in September ahead of UFC 266. With Jones no longer part of the team, at least until he cleans his act up, he has admitted that he is now looking into other gyms to potentially join, and one of those options appears to be Fight Ready. This past week, photos emerged of Jones training at the camp alongside the former UFC champion Cejudo and alongside UFC middleweight Eryk Anders as he looked to be enjoying Fight Ready. However, while Jones might like the move, there are others who do not like it.

Deiveson Figueiredo will be very happy to take the head off Brandon Moreno in their upcoming trilogy, this after the Mexican allegedly betrayed Henry Cejudo. Figueiredo (20-2-1 MMA) and Moreno (19-5-2 MMA) are set to collide for a third time at UFC 270 on January 22. The pair initially met in December of 2020 at UFC 256, where after five rounds of thrilling action their fight was ruled a majority draw.

It would be an intriguing matchup and Volkanovski has said he wants to be active so the timing does work as Max Holloway is slated to fight Yair Rodriguez in November.
