One highly ranked UFC heavyweight has expressed frustration over the Jon Jones dilemma. Top fighters in the heavyweight division continue to wait for what’s next in the title picture. While UFC CEO Dana White remains confident that current champion Jones and interim titleholder Tom Aspinall will fight, the wait continues. Jones captured the gold back in March 2023, yet has as many title defenses as the interim champion, which is one apiece.

Ciryl Gane fought Alexander Volkov with an injured foot at UFC 310 over the weekend. ‘Bon Gamin’ returned to the cage over the weekend in Las Vegas. Back for the first time since knocking out Serghei Spivac last September, Ciryl Gane faced off with Alexander Volkov once again. The Frenchman had handed ‘Drago’ a unanimous decision loss back in 2021, but the Russian entered UFC 310 riding a four-fight winning streak.

Alexander Volkov is not happy with the judges following UFC 310. Volkov collided with Ciryl Gane in a rematch this past Saturday night. The bout went the distance, and the general consensus is that Volkov did enough to win the fight. Two of the three judges at Octagon side disagreed, and scored the fight for Gane.

UFC heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov won’t be fighting Ciryl Gane next month. ‘Drago’ has been out of the octagon since his clash against Sergei Pavlovich in June. That bout saw Alexander Volkov easily outpoint his former friend and teammate en route to a unanimous decision victory. The victory was the Russian’s fourth in a row, previously scoring wins over the likes of Tai Tuivasa, and Alexander Romanov.

Alexander Volkov and Sergei Pavlovich aren’t likely to be chummy again, or at least not for quite some time. Volkov and Pavlovich were once sparring partners, but the two have had a falling out. They ended up fighting one another on the UFC Saudi Arabia card this past Saturday. Volkov was effective in maintaining his distance, making it difficult for Pavlovich to land anything substantial. Volkov had his way with the jab, as well as kicks to the calf and body.

However, after weighing in, Tybura fell ill and the fight was canceled again. After that, the promotion quickly booked him to face Alexander Volkov in a main event slot which Rozenstruik is happy about.
