Tyron Woodley will get the chance to settle the score with Jake Paul, this after Tommy Fury was forced to withdraw from his fight with boxings “problem child”. Woodley (0-1) and Paul (4-0) originally collided back in August, with Jake emerging victorious by way of a split decision.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya called out P4P great Floyd Mayweather, saying “it’s probably the biggest fight that you can make today.” De La Hoya, who is 48 years old, has not stepped into the boxing ring since he lost to Manny Pacquiao in 2008. He was supposed to return into the boxing ring this year for Triller against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, but the fight fell apart after de la Hoya came down with a bad case of COVID-19. De La Hoya has now recovered from his illness and he is interested in stepping back into the ring in 2022. While he is open to fighting Belfort again, De La Hoya believes he has a better idea for a fight, a rematch against Mayweather.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson and boxing legend Shannon Briggs had a backstage encounter at the Triller presser. Jackson and Briggs were both guests ahead of the Triller Triad Combat promotion’s first event this weekend. The organization held its pre-fight press conference this week, and both Jackson and Briggs were on hand for the festivities. The two then ran into each other backstage and got into a war of the words, potentially setting up a future boxing matchup.

Boxing legend Tyson Fury claimed that his brother Tommy played possum against Anthony Taylor in order to secure the fight with Jake Paul. The younger Fury meets Paul on December 18 in what is expected to be one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year to close out 2021. Back in August, Paul defeated former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley, for the biggest win of his career. On the undercard for that boxing event was a matchup between the younger Fury and Taylor, who is a former Bellator MMA fighter. Although Fury was a big favorite to defeat Taylor and he did so, he did not get the knockout despite having more skills, power, and experience in boxing. If you ask the older Fury, that’s because his younger brother was playing possum.

Boxer-turned-YouTuber Jake Paul sent a message to his rival Tommy Fury, telling the world that “I’m gonna knock him the f*ck out.” Paul is coming off of back-to-back wins over former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley this year, and he is looking to end the year on a high note when he takes on Fury. This should be one of the biggest boxing matches to end the year 2021, and both Paul and Fury are excited about going in there and knocking each other’s heads odd. But although there are many people out there who believe that Fury is the toughest opponent that Paul has ever had in his short boxing career, Paul says he disagrees with that sort of sentiment.

Former UFC middleweight contender Alan Belcher recently won his professional boxing debut at heavyweight for the Summit FC promotion. At age 37, Belcher made his professional boxing debut on November 6 at Summit FC 39 when he tough on Ryan Shough. Belcher ended up winning the fight in the second round by knockout, which was impressive. But even more impressive than actually winning the fight is Belcher’s incredible physique. Years after leaving the UFC due to a then-career-ending eye injury, Belcher looks to be in the absolute best shape of his life. UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz took a shot at Jake Paul, telling the YouTuber-turned-boxer that “you can’t really fight.” Diaz and Paul have been going back-and-forth on social media and in interviews for the last little while, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that they continued to take shots this week. It all came after Diaz responded to an article about Paul, where his former opponent Ben Askren gave him credit for being a good boxer. Diaz saw the comments and replied right away, telling him that these comments are coming from a retired wrestler who can’t box, and therefore they don’t mean anything. That led to Paul then returning fire by telling Diaz that he has a bunch of losses on his resume, and then Diaz took a shot at Paul.
