BJJ sensation Craig Jones dumped $1 million on the desk of Joe Rogan during their podcast earlier this week. As many of you will know, Craig Jones is quite the superstar in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He’s an elite competitor and a two-time silver medalist at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) tournament, however, he won’t be competing there in 2024. That’s because he’ll be hosting the Craig Jones Invitational (CJI) across similar dates in August, with his aim being to raise compensation for competing athletes.

Jake Paul set to box former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in July

Jake Paul will be returning to the ring in July and will be taking on former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. Paul is coming off a first-round TKO win on Saturday against Ryan Bourland, which was the second straight pro boxer he has faced. On Thursday, out of nowhere, Paul’s promotion Most Valuable Promotions announced that the YouTuber-turned-boxer will return to the ring on July 20 against Mike Tyson.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Leandro Lo has died. Lo was shot and killed following a scuffle at a concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the police report, officer Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo was listed as a suspect.

Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu acknowledges mishandling of sexual assault cases

BJJ veteran Roberto Abreu, also known as “Cyborg”, has addressed his role in sexual assault allegations towards his Fight Sports organization. Back in March 2018, a 31-year-old instructor from Fight Sports was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl, as reported by New York Times. Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu was a coach and close friend of Marcel Goncalves, the man accused.
