Alexa Grasso has vowed to finish Valentina Shevchenko once again when they collide in the inaugural Noche UFC event on September 16. Back in March, Alexa Grasso shocked the world. She defeated Valentina Shevchenko via submission to win the UFC flyweight championship. In doing so, she capped off a remarkable rise to prominence that many were hoping would one day end in a title win. Of course, following the result, everyone knew they’d have to run it back.

UFC president Dana White has spoken about the possibility of Nate Diaz returning to the promotion in the future. Last weekend, Nate Diaz fell short in his attempt at defeating Jake Paul in the boxing ring. It was a fairly one-sided affair, although the king of Stockton did manage to have a few fun moments in there. Either way, though, he lost, and many have since questioned what’s going to be next for him.

UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Michael Chandler is still planned to be Conor McGregor’s return opponent. Michael Chandler has been waiting patiently. Following The Ultimate Fighter, many were waiting on an announcement from the UFC regarding Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor. Up to this point, nothing has been confirmed, and some have even suggested – including McGregor himself – that the promotion has moved on from that idea.

Israel Adesanya set to defend middleweight title in main event of UFC 293 against Sean Strickland

Israel Adesanya will be defending his middleweight title in Australia. UFC president Dana White announced on Tuesday that Adesanya is set to take on Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 293 on September 9. The event will take place in Sydney, Australia.
T.J. Dillashaw admits that retirement could be temporary: "I'm still the best guy in the weight class"

Former UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw will likely be back if all goes well. The 37-year-old last competed at UFC 280 against Aljamain Sterling last Fall. The fight was T.J. Dillashaw’s first in over a year, missing time after a win over Cory Sandhagen due to injury. Prior to that win over ‘The Sandman’, the former champion famously missed over two years of his career due to failing a drug test.

Logan Paul seemingly has a target on UFC star Conor McGregor after his boxing match against Dillon Danis. ‘The Maverick’ isn’t as active in the boxing ring as his brother Jake Paul, but still competes from time to time. Last fighting Floyd Mayweather to a no-contest in a June 2021 exhibition, Logan Paul recently announced his return. Late last month, he, alongside KSI, were announced for a pay-per-view event in October.

Conor McGregor is backing Dillon Danis in his boxing debut. It was announced on Tuesday that Dillon Danis will make his boxing debut on Oct. 14 against Logan Paul in England. It is a massive fight and one that had been worked on in the past but never came to fruition due to Paul suffering a knee injury while wrestling.

Vicente Luque needed to make some changes after losing back-to-back fights. Luque is coming off a knockout loss to Geoff Neal and before that dropped a decision to Belal Muhammad. After his last loss, he suffered a brain hemorrhage which is why he hasn’t fought for over a year.

Sean Strickland is insinuating that he will be fighting Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title at UFC 293. While initially it looked like an Adesanya vs. Dricus Du Plessis (20-2 MMA) was in the cards, after the latter’s TKO victory over Robert Whittaker (24-7 MMA) at UFC 290, then came the announcement that ‘Stillknocks’ was injured and wouldn’t be available to fight in September.

The UFC 291 salaries have been released – but only a handful have actually been made public for fans to see. The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most recent pay-per-view event was, by all accounts, a success. The promotion put on another fantastic card, headlined by Justin Gaethje knocking out Dustin Poirier to win the BMF title. In addition to that, we also saw a parade of other fun match-ups, setting us up for even more entertaining collisions in the future.

In the main event of UFC Nashville, top-10 bantamweights met in a 140lbs catchweight fight as Cory Sandhagen took on Rob Font. Sandhagen entered the scrap coming off back-to-back wins over Marlon Vera and Song Yadong in precious fight night main events. Prior to the back-to-back wins, Sandhagen had lost two in a row to Petr Yan for the interim belt and a controversial split decision to TJ Dillashaw. Font, meanwhile, snapped his two-fight losing skid last time out as he scored a first-round knockout over Adrian Yanez.

With McGregor getting closer to a return after breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier, he was booked to coach TUF 31 against Chandler with the two expected to fight later. However, the fight has yet to be announced or agreed to as McGregor is still not in the USADA testing pool.

Fresh off his win, UFC bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen has slammed Henry Cejudo. ‘The Sandman’ returned to the cage over the weekend in the main event of UFC Nashville. Originally slated to face Umar Nurmagomedov, Rob Font instead took the fight on short notice. In the makeshift main event, Cory Sandhagen dominated using his wrestling to secure a lopsided decision win.

Last October, Charles Oliveira was defeated by the Russian in a battle for vacant lightweight gold.

Cory Sandhagen is headed for surgery after suffering injury during fight with Rob Font at UFC Nashville. It was just this past Saturday, August 5th at UFC Nashville, that saw Rob Font (20-7 MMA) get defeated by Cory Sandhagen (17-4 MMA) via unanimous decision. The catchweight main event result, while very positive for ‘Sandman’, has also left the fighter injured and in need of surgery.
