Mateusz Gamrot is shooting for the stars following an anticlimactic TKO victory over Rafael Fiziev at UFC Vegas 79. Gamrot vs. Fiziev didn’t end the way most anticipated. In the second round, Fiziev suffered a nasty leg injury after he connected a kick on the elbow of Gamrot. The bout had to be stopped due to the injury, and Gamrot was awarded the TKO win.

Another welterweight barn burner has been booked for UFC 296, and this time it’s Vicente Luque vs. Ian Machado Garry. The UFC’s year-end pay-per-view looks to be a crucial night for the welterweight division. In the main event of UFC 296, Leon Edwards puts his welterweight gold on the line against Colby Covington. Also featured on the card will be a 170-pound tilt between Stephen Thompson and Shavkat Rakhmonov. Now, UFC CEO Dana White has announced that Luque vs. Garry has been added to the card.

Nevertheless, Cannonier has been booked to fight Roman Dolidze on a UFC Fight Night card scheduled for December 2. ESPN’s Marc Raimondi was the first to break the news.

Dan Ige has spoken out following his loss to Bryce Mitchell at UFC Vegas 79. Ige and Mitchell shared the Octagon inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 23. The featherweight clash served as the co-main event for UFC Vegas 79. Ige was attempting to extend his winning streak to three, while Mitchell was hoping to rebound from the first loss of his pro MMA career.

Earlier this week, White announced that UFC 296 would be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington. The co-main event of UFC 296 sees Alexandre Pantoja defending his flyweight title against Brandon Royval. The card already seemed solid, but White announced two more big fights on social media.

There, he suffered a third-round stoppage to lose his flyweight gold. Following the defeat, Deiveson Figueiredo announced his plans to head to bantamweight, leading to callouts from Rob Font and others.
