Interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has revealed that welterweight kingpin Leon Edwards is helping him prepare for the UFC 304 start time. Aspinall has been outspoken about the UFC’s decision to have the same 10 p.m. ET start time for the Manchester card, meaning Aspinall won’t be fighting until very early in the morning local time. The interim champ even tried convincing the UFC to change the start time, but he didn’t have any luck.

Curtis Blaydes believes that his fight with Tom Aspinall at UFC 304 is for the real heavyweight title. ‘Razor’ has been out of the octagon since a second-round knockout victory over Jailton Almeida in March at UFC 299. That win was Curtis Blaydes’s fourth in his last five cage appearances, and enough for him to get a crack at Tom Aspinall. The British heavyweight had previously won interim gold with a knockout win over Sergei Pavlovich last November.

Tom Aspinall is having one heck of a time adjusting his training with the UFC 304 start time. Aspinall is set to put his interim UFC Heavyweight Championship on the line against Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event of UFC 304 in Manchester, England. Unfortunately for Aspinall, the UFC will be sticking with its original 10 p.m. ET start time for the PPV, which will be 3 a.m. ET local time. Aspinall, a Salford native, even attempted to talk the UFC out of sticking with its time, but to no avail.

Jailton Almeida has advised Tom Aspinall to exercise patience against Curtis Blaydes. Almeida knows what it’s like to share the Octagon with Blaydes. The two met back in March on the featured preliminary bout of the UFC 299 card. While Almeida had success with his takedowns in round one, things quickly changed in the second stanza. Almeida went for a takedown with Blaydes’ back near the fence. As Almeida shot in to grapple, he was hit with a short uppercut. Blaydes then rained down hammerfists for the stoppage.
