Tonight’s UFC Vegas 59 main card was kicked off by a lightweight contest featuring Terrance McKinney taking on Erick Gonzalez. McKinney (13-4 MMA) had last competed back in March, where he suffered a first round TKO loss to Drew Dober. Prior to that setback, ‘T-Wrecks‘ had put together a five-fight winning streak which included two stoppage wins under the UFC banner.

Terrance McKinney wanted to return much sooner than this Saturday night. McKinney is coming off a TKO loss to Drew Dober in a fight where he nearly earned what would have been his sixth straight finish. Although he lost, he says that fight was a win-win as he learned what he needed to improve on.

A lightweight fight between Drew Dober and Terrance McKinney takes place on tonight’s UFC Vegas 50 main card. Dober (24-11 MMA) enters tonight’s contest looking to snap a two-fight losing skid. The lightweight veteran suffered a unanimous decision loss to Brad Riddell in his most previous Octagon appearance at UFC 263.

Terrance McKinney said he wanted a quick turnaround and he is doing just that. After defeating Fares Ziam by first-round submission at UFC Vegas 49, ‘T.Wrecks’ has stepped up on a weeks’ notice to face Drew Dober at UFC Vegas 50. It’s an intriguing matchup and one McKinney wanted right when he saw Ricky Glenn was out of the fight.

Terrance McKinney is looking forward to following up on his successful UFC debut. McKinney stepped up on short notice against Matt Frevola at UFC 263 and scored a seven-second KO win. After the win, however, during his celebration, he injured his knee but he finally is ready to return on Saturday at UFC Vegas 43 against Fares Ziam.

UFC lightweight prospect Terrance McKinney shared a motivational story with UFC fans following his record-setting debut earlier this month. McKinney knocked out Matt Frevola with a 1-2 combination just seven seconds into their UFC 263 preliminary card lightweight bout. For McKinney, he was making his UFC debut on short notice after a fight in LFA the week before. He turned out to have one of the best UFC debuts of all time as he set the record for the fastest KO in UFC lightweight history. But for McKinney, just the fact that he’s made it all the way to the UFC is an accomplishment itself.
