Brendan Schaub claims Evander Holyfield required an aide in order to attend charity event seven years ago

Adam D Martin - September 8, 2021

Brendan Schaub claims that boxing legend Evander Holyfield required an aide in order to attend a charity event seven years ago. The 58-year-old Holyfield makes his return to the boxing ring this Saturday night when he takes on former UFC champion Vitor Belfort in the main event of the Triller Fight Club PPV event. The card, which features a co-main event boxing match between MMA legends Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz, was originally set to take place in California, but the event was moved to Florida after the California State Athletic Commission refused to sanction Holyfield to fight. Considering he is 58 years old and stepping up on very short notice to take this fight against a dangerous opponent in Belfort, it’s understandable why California said no. Not to mention that Holyfield hasn’t stepped into the ring in over a decade.

Michael Bisping shares theory as to why Conor McGregor has been lashing out on social media

Adam D Martin - September 8, 2021

UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping shared his theory as to why Conor McGregor has been lashing out as of late on social media. Bisping is one of the UFC’s top analysts, and one of the reasons he is one of the best is because he himself has lived the highs and lows of an MMA fighter’s life. For McGregor, while his entire career has arguably been a high point just because of how much money he’s made, but from a fighting point of view, he’s hit a low recently due to losing back-to-back fights to Dustin Poirier via TKO. The two losses have led McGregor to become angry and he has lashed out on social media as of late against Poirier and his other rivals.

Silva is now 46 years old but he isn’t letting Father Time stop him from still competing at a high level. Last fall, the UFC released Silva following a KO loss to Uriah Hall. While many fans and media wrote him off at that point, Silva decided to make the jump into the world of pro boxing, and back in June, he picked up an upset split decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. It was a good performance by Silva, and he now takes on former UFC champion Tito Ortiz next weekend in another pro boxing match, this time for the Triller Fight Club.

The fight will take place in Florida after it was moved when headliner Oscar De La Hoya got sick with COVID-19 and was replaced by Evander Holyfield, who will now fight Vitor Belfort in the main event. Due to Holyfield being 58 years old and coming into the fight on such short notice, the California State Athletic Commission wouldn’t clear the fight to take place there, which necessitated the entire card being moved down to the state of Florida, instead.
