Thompson (16-6-1 MMA), a former two-time UFC title challenger, was looking to get back in the win column on Saturday night, this after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns in his last fight. Prior to that setback, ‘Wonderboy’ had earned back-to-back unanimous decision victories over Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque.

Former UFC title challenger Claudia Gadelha has retired from MMA, citing post concussion syndrome as a key factor in her decision. Gadelha (18-5 MMA) has not competed since November of 2020, where she suffered a unanimous decision loss to Yan Xiaonan. According the Brazilian standout, she suffered nasty concussion during that contest, which caused lingering symptoms for quite some time.

Williams a former NBA star and two-time Olympic gold medalist was set to make his pro boxing debut against Gore a longtime NFL running back. The fight was set to be on the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley 2 undercard on Saturday night on Showtime, but it was going to be a pro bout. However, on Friday, ESPN revealed the fight has now been changed to an exhibition. Even though it will be an exhibition, a winner will still be declared.
