Islam Makhachev believes he beats Charles Oliveira with ease. Makhachev is set to headline UFC Vegas 49 against Bobby Green and should he win it’s likely he will get a title shot his next time out. For many fans, they have viewed Islam as a probable future champion, but he still needs to get past Green before he can think of the belt.

Jorge Masvidal has thrown an allegation towards Colby Covington ahead of their fight. The friends-turned-rivals are set to clash next month at UFC 272. The two were extremely close for years, even living as roommates on one occasion. However, years later, they couldn’t be further apart. They’re now set to fight in a PPV headliner next month.

Bobby Green is not a fan of Islam Makhachev’s style. Green is set to face Makhachev in the main event of UFC Vegas 49 on Saturday night. Green stepped up on short notice to face Makhachev at a 160lbs catchweight fight. “King” just fought at UFC 271 on February 12 and although he thinks Makhachev is a tough test he admits this is a fight he doesn’t think will be entertaining. Instead, he says the Dagestani fighter is boring and isn’t entertaining.

Henry Cejudo seemingly has no interest in any sort of Israel Adesanya vs. Jon Jones superfight. ‘Triple C’ believes that ‘Jones’ would crush his long-time rival, and literally kill him if they fought. The two champions have gone back and forth over the past few years. ‘The Last Stylebender’ intended to eventually move up to challenge ‘Bones’ for a 205-pound grudge match. However, the proposed superfight has been postponed as a result of Jones’ impending move to the heavyweight division.

Jon Jones has taken to Twitter to say his story is far from over and he is preparing to make a heavyweight run. Jones, (26-1 MMA) normally competes in the light heavyweight division of the UFC and has  lost only once during his run. That loss came during a matchup with Matt Hamill (12-8 MMA) back in December of 2009 and was by disqualification due to elbow strikes.

Chad Mendes made his BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) debut last weekend, February 19, 2022. Mendes scored a knockout win over Joshuah Alvarez in a fight that lasted four rounds. Mendes is still under contract with the UFC but got permission to compete in the BKFC bout. ‘Money’ last fought in the featherweight division at UFC 232 back in December of 2018. That fight resulted in a loss by KO to Alexander Volkanovski.

Bellator middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi has made it clear that his intention is to finish Austin Vanderford at Bellator 275 tomorrow night. Ever since signing for Bellator back in 2017, Gegard Mousasi has set out to prove what he’s believed for years – that “The Dreamcatcher” is the best middleweight in all of mixed martial arts. With a 6-1 record in the promotion and two stints with the belt, he’s done a pretty good job of putting himself in the running.

Former UFC title challenger Alexis Davis is one of two fighters that have reportedly been released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Over the course of the last twelve months we’ve seen plenty of UFC fighters come and go with the promotion’s roster being as big as it’s ever been. It’s always difficult to predict who exactly is going to get the chop, given that some fighters will still be on the bill after losing six or seven straight whereas others could be cut when they’re on a win streak.

Gegard Mousasi is not a fan of Conor McGregor and discussed their beef on a recent edition of The MMA Hour. Back in 2016, Mousasi put McGregor on blast for the way he promotes himself, in particular how he went about showing off his money. After that, the Irishman DM’d Mousasi and the following bitter exchange ensued.

Miesha Tate has won Celebrity Big Brother. The former UFC bantamweight champion was one of the 11 houseguests including the likes of Lamar Odom, Chris Kirkpatrick, Chris Kattan, and Shanna Moakler amongst others. Tate, along with the other contestants would be in the house for three weeks and compete in competitions and vote each other out until one remained.

Chad Mendes is coming off a spectacular win at KnuckleMania 2. Despite the victory, he remains uncommitted to his fighting future. The former UFC title challenger unretired in 2021 and was given clearance from the UFC to compete for BKFC. He quickly signed a three-fight deal with the promotion, and his debut was set for last week’s KnuckleMania card against Joshuah Alvarez.

Dominick Cruz seemingly has an idea for a return to the cage, thanks in part to Petr Yan. ‘The Dominator’ would like to face former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. In December, following Cruz’s victory over Pedro Munhoz, ‘No Mercy’ suggested that the former champion face Jose Aldo. The Brazilian moved down to 135-pounds in 2019 after a stint at featherweight that saw him claim WEC and UFC gold. Aldo is now currently riding a three-fight winning streak after losing to Yan at UFC 251.

Gegard Mousasi is booked to fight Austin Vanderford this weekend at Bellator 275. Despite that booking, it seems that the Bellator middleweight champion is already looking to a future opponent. ‘The Dreamcatcher’ is currently coming off a stoppage win over John Salter at Bellator 264. The TKO victory was the first of his second reign as Bellator’s middleweight champion. While viewed as one of the greatest 185-pound fighters on the planet, it seems that he’s turning his view away from MMA for a potential fight in the ring.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is interested in signing Francis Ngannou should he become a free agent, according to BKFC president, David Feldman. It was well-documented that Ngannou was fighting out his contract when he fought Ciryl Gane at UFC 270, a fight he won by decision. Since then, he hasn’t signed a new deal and due to him still being the champ he either has to fight one more time or wait until the end of the year to become a free agent.

Terrance McKinney is looking to build off his seven-second KO win over Matt Frevola in his debut. Back in June at UFC 263, McKinney stepped up on short notice and scored the KO win. He was then booked to fight Fares Ziam in November, but after a cornerman tested positive for COVID-19 the fight was scrapped. He will now face Ziam on Saturday at UFC Vegas 49 where he’s expecting to finish the fight in spectacular fashion.

Robert Whittaker is aiming at returning to the Octagon this summer. Whittaker was defeated by Israel Adesanya by unanimous decision in the middleweight main event at UFC 271 on February 12, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
