The Octagon returns to England for today’s UFC London event, a twelve-bout fight card headlined by Alexander Volkov vs. Tom Aspinall. Volkov (34-9 MMA), a former Bellator heavyweight champion, was last seen in action at UFC 267 where he scored a unanimous decision victory over Marcin Tybura. That win was preceded by decision loss to Ciryl Gane.

Following the victory, it was revealed that Ngannou was suffering from a torn MCL and would be forced to undergo surgery. Alongside the injury, the UFC’s heavyweight champion has publicly pondered leaving the promotion to pursue boxing.

Damon Jackson took a risk by fighting out his UFC contract when he took on Kamuela Kirk at UFC Vegas 50. Jackson was coming off a win over Charles Rosa and was 2-1 in his return to the promotion and thought he had a favorable matchup in front of him in Kamuela Kirk. However, when he saw the betting odds had it as a pick’em and that people were picking against him, he says it motivated him to go out and beat Kirk from start to finish until he got the stoppage.

Due to the injury, the former dual-weight champion has been on the shelf.

Both Charles Oliveira and Dana White expressed interest in it but now, McGregor revealed he plans on going to welterweight in his return.

UFC 272‘s main event saw friends-turned-foes collide as ‘Chaos’ took on ‘Gamebred’. In the end, the build to the fight turned out to be much better than the bout itself. Covington dominated the matchup and won the bout via a lopsided unanimous decision. Despite the fight being one-sided, both men have continued their beef online.

The UFC featherweight believes that his teammate will win the fight in highlight-reel fashion. ‘The Hangman’ is set to return to featherweight this weekend against Arnold Allen. The bout will be the first at 145-pounds for Hooker since 2017. Following a loss to Jason Knight, he decided to move up to lightweight where he became one of the best 155-pound fighters on the planet. However, he’s since decided to move back following a loss to Islam Makhachev last year.

Covington is coming off a decision win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 and after the event, Chael Sonnen said he thought ‘Chaos’ vs. Adesanya made sense. For Covington, he says he would take that fight as he knows ‘The Last Stylebender’ doesn’t have many options. It’s also a scrap that makes sense given Covington says he’s 2-0 against Adesanya’s friend in Usman.
