Julianna Pena believes she “lit a gas can of fire right underneath” the behind of Amanda Nunes with her upset win at UFC 269. Pena (11-4 MMA) captured the promotions women’s bantamweight title with a second round submission victory over Nunes (21-5 MMA) last December (see that here). It was a stunning upset in terms of betting odds, but one that did not come as a surprise to ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ and her supporters.
UFC interim welterweight title?

One of the UFC’s top welterweight fighters believes an interim title is “the right thing to do” given the absence of champion Kamaru Usman. Usman (20-1 MMA), the promotions reigning welterweight champion, has not competed since scoring a decision victory over Colby Covington at November’s UFC 268 event. Following his fifth consecutive defense of the 170lbs title, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ revealed that he was suffering from a broken hand that required surgery.

Four days ago, Figueiredo (21-2-1 MMA) revealed that he was ‘very upset’ with the UFC for creating an interim flyweight title. The Octagon returns to Singapore for tonight’s UFC 275 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Glover Teixeira vs. Jiri Procházka. Teixeira (33-7 MMA) captured the promotions light heavyweight title at UFC 267 with a second round submission victory over Jan Blachowicz. The victory marked the 42-year-olds sixth in a row and third straight stoppage.

UFC president Dana White still wants to see Khamzat Chimaev fight Nate Diaz. The Chechen was last seen in action against Gilbert Burns at UFC 273 in April. Chimaev moved to 11-0 in his professional career, defeating the Brazilian via decision. The bout was easily the biggest test of the 28-year-old’s career thus far.

Since signing with the UFC, Chandler has been vocal about wanting to fight the Irishman and he claims he is the current frontrunner.

Confirmed by multiple people, the Bontorin (16-4 MMA) vs Kape (17-6 MMA) flyweight bout will no longer take place this weekend.
