Chael Sonnen has continued to champion his client UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall. Last month, ‘The Bad Guy’ implored the Brit to talk more on the microphone. Specifically, Sonnen had an issue with Aspinall opining that he doesn’t deserve a title shot. On his YouTube channel, the former UFC title challenger stated:

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira has reflected on his loss to Jiri Prochazka. Last Saturday night at UFC 275, fans were witness to one of the greatest title fights in promotion history. Teixeira looked to make the first title defense of his light-heavyweight strap against Prochazka. The Brazilian won the title with a win over Jan Blachowicz last October.

UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Julianna Pena believes she has marketed herself the right way. Julianna Pena (12-4 MMA) last fought in December 2021 at UFC 269 where she defeated Amanda Nunes (21-5 MMA). Pena staggered Nunes in the second round of their co-main event and secured the rear-naked choke to capture the UFC women’s bantamweight crown.

Ramos suffered a decision loss to Zubaira Tukhugov back in October and since then he has been waiting to fight. However, no opportunities came up until this Saturday when he will face Chavez.

Tyron Woodley believes the UFC pushes fighters too quickly and Sage Northcutt and Paige VanZant are the perfect examples. The UFC often signs young, up-and-coming prospects but the problem with them fighting in the UFC so young is the fact they are fighting the best in the world, which is a problem according to Woodley. Along with that, the promotion has to carefully matchmake them which they didn’t do to both Northcutt and VanZant as both struggled and ultimately left the UFC.

Jiri Prochazka believes he made a key mistake against Glover Teixeira in their UFC 275 title fight. Prochazka and Teixeira had a back-and-forth war as both men had moments in the fight and they both nearly finished the fight. Late in the fifth round, Prochazka was able to get ahold of Teixeira’s back and eventually got the submission win with 28 seconds left to become the new champ.

Cory Sandhagen will finally be making his return to the Octagon. According to MMA reporter Marcel Dorff, the UFC is working on making Sandhagen vs. Song Yadong to headline a Fight Night card on September 17. The fight is not a done deal, per the report but this is the fight the promotion wants to make. The location of the event is still to be determined.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul has revealed a recent run-in that he had with Dillon Danis. ‘The Maverick’ and his brother Jake have been feuding with the Bellator fighter for a while now. ‘The Problem Child’ and Danis were nearly booked for a fight on Triller pay-per-view in March 2021. However, the bout fell through and Ben Askren faced Jake instead. The younger brother famously knocked out ‘Funky’ in round one.

Throughout fight week in Atlanta, Stephens was full of energy – especially now that he is at lightweight – but when he came into weigh-in he surprised many as he was completely bald. The fan-favorite was forced to shave his hair and beard to make weight as he weighed in at 156lbs on the dot.
