It was at UFC 276 on July 2, 2022 that Israel Adesanya (23-1 MMA) defeated Jared Cannonier (15-6 MMA) via unanimous decision in the middleweight main event. In his fifth title defense, ‘The Last Stylebender’ retained his middleweight world championship.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 58, a pivotal lightweight bout headlined the card as Rafael Fiziev took on Rafael dos Anjos. Fiziev entered his first UFC main event coming off a KO win over Brad Riddell in December after scoring a decision win over Bobby Green. dos Anjos, meanwhile, beat Renato Moicano by decision in March over five rounds in a one-sided fight.

Jiri Prochazka has confirmed that he will rematch Glover Teixeira next. Jiri Prochazka (29-3 MMA) has 13 wins in a row. The latest win coming on June 12th of this year at UFC 275. It was Prochazka vs Teixeira (33-8 MMA) in the light heavyweight battle, and with Teixeira only 28 seconds away from retaining his UFC crown, he tapped to the rear-naked choke that Jiri  Prochazka applied in their main event bout. Many are calling it the ‘fight of the year’.

Sean O’Malley has gone after Pedro Munhoz following the controversial finish to their fight at UFC 276 last weekend. In what turned out to be a bit of a bantamweight grudge match in Las Vegas, Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz fought to a disappointing no contest at the T-Mobile Arena. The bout came to an end in the second round with Munhoz claiming he couldn’t see off the back of an eye poke from O’Malley.
