Sam Alvey has issued a statement following his TKO loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk at tonight’s UFC Vegas 59 event. Alvey (33-18-1 MMA) had entered the contest on an eight-fight winless skid, his most recent effort resulting in a submission loss to Brendan Allen. “Smile’n Sam’s” most recent win had come back in June of 2018, when he earned a split-decision victory over Gian Villante.

Israel Adesanya says he is super excited to face Alex Pereira at UFC 281 as he will finally have an opponent who will attack him. Adesnaya (23-1 MMA) vs. Pereira (6-1 MMA) are set to collide for the promotions middleweight title on November 12th at Madison Sqaure Garden.

The bout is set to crown the new 155-pound champion, after ‘Do Bronx’ was stripped in May. Oliveira famously lost his title on the scale prior to his fight with Justin Gaethje at UFC 274.

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has a message to fans who complain that he’s not active. ‘Bones’ has been out of the cage since his controversial decision victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in February 2020. Jones first vacated his light-heavyweight strap due to a pay dispute with Dana White. The New Mexico native reportedly wanted to be paid as much as former boxing champion, Deontay Wilder.

Battle won the show with a submission win over Gilbert Urbina, but that was after Tresean Gore had to pull out of the finale. Battle then fought Gore and beat him by decision and in the lead-up to that fight, he realized welterweight is where he belongs.

Cain Velasquez pleaded not guilty to several charges on Friday in court. According to MMAJunkie’s Nolan King, the former UFC heavyweight champ pled not guilty Friday to multiple charges including attempted murder. Velasquez is facing a total of 10 charges, being attempted murder; shooting at an occupied motor vehicle or aircraft; three counts of assault with a firearm; three counts of assault with a deadly weapon; willfully discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony. If he is found guilty of attempted murder he faces a minimum of 20 years and up to life in prison, with additional time being added for the other charges, if found guilty.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier has claimed Colby Covington is dealing with some serious injuries stemming from the Jorge Masvidal attack. Back at UFC 272 earlier this year, Colby Covington beat Jorge Masvidal in a five-round decision that, at the time, seemed to settle the feud between them. However, just a few weeks later, Masvidal caught up with Covington in a Miami steakhouse and allegedly assaulted him at the scene.

PFL CEO Peter Murray reveals Claressa Shields to return in November

PFL women’s lightweight Claressa Shields will return to the cage before the end of the year. The 27-year-old has been out of the cage since her decision defeat to Abigail Montes last October. The victory set her to 1-1 in the MMA cage, as he had previously signed to the PFL in 2020. She debuted with an impressive knockout defeat of Brittney Elkin in June 2021.
