UFC bantamweight contender Marlon Vera has given his take on the fighter pay debate. Over the last few years, the debate around UFC athlete pay has skyrocketed. Thanks to figures such as Jake Paul, many have attacked the promotion for their lackluster pay. While many sporting leagues such as the NFL and NBA split profits between players and executives, the UFC is different.

UFC bantamweight contender Marlon Vera reveals Petr Yan turned down a fight against him. ‘Chito’ has been out of the cage since his decision victory over Rob Font in April. The win was Vera’s third in a row and has moved him to the front of the bantamweight rankings. Prior to the victory over Font, he had defeated Frankie Edgar and Davey Grant.

Cesar Gracie has revealed that Nick Diaz competed with two ruptured discs in his neck against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. It was Nick Diaz (26-10 MMA) vs Robbie Lawler (29-16 MMA) back in September of 2021 in the middleweight match-up. Lawler was the victor via TKO at 44 seconds of the third round.

The contest is considered to be a mismatch by many with Chimaev being viewed as the clear favourite, but we all know counting someone like Diaz out before the fight has even begun is a mistake.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 59 event, a ten-bout fight card headlined by Thiago Santos vs. Jamahal Hill. Tonight’s main event proved to be another strong showing for the highly touted Jamahal Hill. Although he had to battle some adversity, ‘Sweet Dreams’ was able to secure a finish over ‘Marreta’ in round four, this after Santos appeared to be mounting a comeback in the third frame. The win marked Hill’s eleventh career victory and fifth under the UFC banner.
