Newly minted UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno has responded to fans trying to pelt him with garbage following his third-round TKO victory over Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 283. Moreno and Figueiredo shared the Octagon for the fourth time at UFC 283 this past Saturday night. Moreno landed a hook that badly swelled Figueiredo’s eye. The Octagon-side doctor took a look at the eye and determined that Figueiredo should not continue, and the fight was stopped before the fourth round could begin.

Glover Teixeira has announced his 42-fight pro MMA career has come to an end, and the MMA community is giving the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion his flowers. Teixeira faced Jamahal Hill in the main event of UFC 283 this past Saturday night. The bout was contested for the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Teixeira lost the fight via unanimous decision. During his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Teixeira took his gloves off, left them at the center of the Octagon, and announced his retirement.

Jiri Prochazka has reacted to Jamahal Hill’s UFC Light Heavyweight Championship win. This past Saturday night, Hill competed against Glover Teixeira for the vacant 205-pound gold. Hill turned in a one-sided performance that earned him the unanimous decision victory and a piece of UFC hardware for the first time in his pro MMA career.

The Octagon returned to Rio de Janeiro for tonight’s UFC 283 event, a 15-bout fight card headlined by Glover Teixeira vs. Jamahal Hill. Tonight’s highly anticipated light heavyweight title fight proved to be a coming out party for Jamahal Hill. ‘Sweet Dreams’ was able to dominate the former title holder for the majority of their twenty-five-minute affair, battering Glover Teixeira with big punches, kicks and knees. After five rounds of grueling action, Hill was awarded the unanimous decision victory.

Teixeira (33-8 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since losing the 205lbs strap to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275 in June of 2022. That setback had snapped a six-fight winning streak for the 43-year-old veteran.

Originally the Swedish-born fighter was supposed to fight Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) at UFC 279, but missed weight by a whopping 7.5 pounds.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is reportedly in discussions with Misfits Boxing. ‘The Predator’ has been out of action since his decision victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 last year. Following the victory, Ngannou revealed that he was fighting compromised against ‘Bon Gamin’. As a result of a knee injury, he’s spent over a year out of the cage.

Neil Magny was vocal in wanting to fight Khamzat Chimaev, but it never came to fruition. Magny and Chimaev agreed to fight one another on social media and for a while, it looked like the fight would happen. But, after it didn’t and both went their separate ways, Magny and Chimaev ended up training with one another and after the training session, Magny realized the Swede is the real deal.
