Erin Blanchfield has emerged as a top contender in the UFC women’s flyweight division, and she wants a title opportunity next. Blanchfield shared the Octagon with Jessica Andrade in the main event of UFC Vegas 69 this past Saturday night. Blanchfield was expected to meet Taila Santos but plans changed, and Andrade stepped in. Blanchfield secured the second-round submission finish.

Sean Strickland has once again taken to social media to ruffle some feathers. Strickland was well aware of Diego Sanchez’s fourth-round TKO loss to former WBA super-welterweight titleholder Austin Trout in a bare-knuckle boxing showdown this past Friday night. Sanchez and Trout collided at BKFC Knucklemania 3 inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, N.M.

The Octagon returned to Nevada for tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Jessica Andrade vs. Erin Blanchfield. The women’s flyweight main event proved to be a coming out party for Erin Blanchfield. The 23-year-old went toe-to-toe with the hard-hitting Brazilian for the first five minutes of the contest. Then in round two, Blanchfield was able to score an early takedown and quickly proceeded to take the back of the former strawweight champion. She proceeded to lock-up a rear-naked choke which forced Andrade to tapout.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event was headlined by a women’s flyweight bout featuring Jessica Andrade taking on Erin Blanchfield. Blanchfield (11-1 MMA) was originally slated to meet Taila Santos (19-2 MMA) in tonight’s headliner. However, Santos was forced to withdraw from the contest last week, and thankfully Jessica Andrade (24-10 MMA) agreed to step in on short-notice and fill the void.

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 69 event is headlined by a light heavyweight contest featuring Zac Pauga taking on Jordan Wright. Wright (12-4 MMA) will enter the contest looking to snap a three-fight losing skid. ‘The Beverly Hills Ninja’ most recently competed back in October of 2022, where he suffered a TKO loss to Duško Todorović.

UFC star Conor McGregor has denied that he has added his own fighters to the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Earlier this week, Conor McGregor arrived in Las Vegas. Over the course of the next few months, he’ll coach the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside Michael Chandler. As many fans know, this is the second time he’ll be taking up the role.

Tonight’s BKFC Knucklemania 3 event is co-headlined by a fight between UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez and Austin Trout. Sanchez (30-14 MMA) will be competing for the first time since suffering a unanimous decision loss to Kevin Lee in the main event of Eagle FC 46 last March. ‘The Nightmare’ has gone 1-3 over his last four contests, with his lone victory in that time coming in the form of a disqualification win over Michel Pereira.

The LFA returns to Hammond, Ind. for LFA 153 on UFC Fight Pass, as Jose Mariscal takes on Guilherme Faria in the main event at 145 pounds. Mariscal returns to the LFA for the first time since May 2019 and sits at 12-6, having won back-to-back outings. As for his opponent, Faria (18-9) holds a win over UFC veteran Daron Cruickshank and recently defeated Zach Zane via second-round TKO in Feb. 2022.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has seemingly accepted Deontay Wilder’s challenge. ‘The Predator’ exited the UFC last month after failing to reach an agreement for a new contract. As a result, he was stripped of his heavyweight gold, and Ngannou quickly began targeting a new home. For their part, the UFC quickly booked Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane for the vacant title in March.

It appears that the beef between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier is truly done. ‘Bones’ and ‘DC’ had one of the most intense rivalries in the history of the sport. Having shared the octagon on two prior occasions, the series currently sits at 1-0 (1) in favor of Jones. That’s also not taking into account the fight the pair had outside the cage.

In December 2015, Chinese athlete Yang Jian Bing passed away, reportedly due to complications from a weight cut for a bout in ONE Championship. Just weeks after the contest, the promotion instituted a new weight-cutting policy that involved hydration testing.

In that headliner in Singapore, the two-light heavyweight contenders put on a show. Trailing on the scorecards heading into the fifth round, Prochazka scored a shocking submission victory.

UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira is warning Francis Ngannou against boxing Tyson Fury. UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, (17-3 MMA) was stripped of his title and released from his contract this past January. Ngannou, 36, rejected the UFC’s new contract offer and is now a free agent.

Blake Bilder knew going to Australia to fight Shane Young at UFC 284 would pose some problems. Bilder was making his debut against Young who hails from New Zealand and is used to the time zone and didn’t have a long flight. Along with that, with what time the card was on in Australia, it meant fighters not having the usual time to rehydrate as well as an early wake-up call to fight.

A U.S. Congressman has taken aim at TBS and Warner Bros for promoting ‘mindless violence’ in the form of Power Slap. UFC President, Dana White, announced the launch of Power Slap back in November of 2022. ‘Power Slap: Road to the Title’ premiered on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 on TBS. The eight-part reality series follows athletes competing to earn a spot in the cast house, the first Power Slap rankings, in matches and ultimately world recognition.

Last weekend at UFC 284, Islam Makhachev went to war with Alexander Volkanovski. It was a back and forth affair but in the end, the star from Dagestan managed to get his hand raised.

UFC star Ciryl Gane has admitted that he only really starts training properly once a fight is actually announced. Next month at UFC 285, Ciryl Gane will return to action as he prepares to battle Jon Jones. In doing so, he’ll be going after the UFC heavyweight championship.
