MMA legend Jose Aldo believes former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou “shot himself in the foot” by leaving the UFC. Aldo (31-8 MMA) is set to return to action this evening on the main card of Gamebred Boxing 4. The former UFC featherweight champion will be squaring off with Jeremy Stephens (29-21 MMA) in a rematch of their UFC on FOX 30 fight from July of 2018. ‘The King of Rio’ won that MMA contest via first-round TKO.

Gamebred FC lands in the Midwest. The fourth installment of its boxing series will see the return of long-time heavyweight boxing icon Roy Jones Jr., as he’ll headline against former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis Saturday night. Pettis, who is making his boxing debut, will fight in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wis., at the Fiserv Forum. Pettis’ last combat sports outing came in the PFL, where he dropped back-to-back fights against Stevie Ray in June and Aug. 2022, respectively. He has a 25-14 record in MMA and was champion in the early-to-mid 2010s.
Daniel Pineda says he will retire from MMA "unless the money is right" after fighting out deal at UFC San Antonio

Daniel Pineda expected his fight at UFC San Antonio against Tucker Lutz to be his last. Pineda was fighting out his UFC contract last weekend and at 37 years old, he thought retirement was the likely move after the bout. Yet, in the fight, Pineda says it was the best he has felt in quite some time and put on a great performance as he submitted Lutz as a sizeable underdog.

Leon Edwards will be fighting Colby Covington next. After Edwards earned a majority decision win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 to defend his welterweight title for the first time, Dana White said Covington would be next. Yet, the Brit said he wouldn’t take the fight as he felt ‘Chaos’ didn’t deserve it. However, after White doubled down on Covington being next in line, the fight is now targeted to happen at UFC 291 on July 22 in London, England according to Sports Illustrated.

Aldo is set to collide with Jeremy Stephens on the main card of Gamebred Boxing 4. The bout will serve as a rematch, as the pair previously collided in the Octagon in 2018, with Aldo winning by first-round TKO. Although Aldo has a fight taking place on Saturday night, the Brazilian revealed he is already in talks to face Mayweather after this event.
