Hailey Cowan won’t be fighting at UFC Paris after all. Multiple sources informed BJPENN.com on Saturday that Hailey Cowan has suffered an injury and has been forced to withdraw from her UFC Paris fight against Zarah Fairn on September 2. It’s uncertain if Fairn will remain on the card or if the fight will be rescheduled to another event.

UFC commentator Daniel Cormier believes it might be time for Tony Ferguson to put down the gloves. ‘El Cucuy’ returned to the octagon over the weekend on the main card of UFC 291. Heading into the contest, the former interim lightweight champion was riding a five-fight losing streak. During that stretch, he faced high-profile names such as Michael Chandler and Nate Diaz. Nonetheless, in his return earlier this month, Tony Ferguson faced Bobby Green.

Following that victory, Nate Diaz became a free agent for the first time in a decade and set his sights on a boxing match. While briefly linked to Logan Paul, he will instead face Jake Paul tomorrow night in Dallas.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson is a believer in Francis Ngannou’s skills heading into the ring. ‘The Predator’ recently signed to face Tyson Fury in October in the first boxing match of his career. While there were concerns that the bout would be an exhibition, that is not the case. Francis Ngannou’s boxing debut will be ten rounds, counting on his professional record, but doesn’t feature the WBC heavyweight title on the line.

Nunes defended her bantamweight title against Irene Aldana back in June in Vancouver at UFC 289, and proceeded to announce her retirement in the Octagon. In the lead-up to the title bout, many thought it would be Nunes’ retirement fight and now, months after retiring, the Brazilian revealed nerve damage played a big role in why she retired.

ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong says Angela Lee will be providing an update on her career soon. It was back in December of 2022 that Victoria Lee passed away at the tender age of 18. Since then, both of her siblings, Angela and Christian Lee, have opted against competing and Sityodtong says there is no rush on them to fight again, despite their championship status. For now, he says he’s left the Lee family to grieve and deal with the heartbreaking news.

Bellator will be holding its 300 event and Usman Nurmagomedov will be defending his lightweight title on the card. Multiple sources informed BJPENN.com that Nurmagomedov will defend his title against Brent Primus, which also serves as the semifinals of the Bellator lightweight grand prix at Bellator 300. The event is set to go down on October 7 in San Diego, California. One source said this event could see multiple title fights on the card as it could be the final event in Bellator history. It’s also unclear if this fight will be the main event of the historic and potential final Bellator event.
