October’s UFC 243 event in Melbourne, Australia continues to take shape with the addition of a key lightweight bout between Al Iaquinta and Dan Hooker. ESPN‘s Ariel Helwani was first to report news of the matchup, stating that both sides of verbally agreed to the fight.

A welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Anthony Pettis will co-headline next weekend’s UFC 241 pay-per-view event in Anaheim. Diaz has not competed since suffering a controversial majority decision loss to Conor McGregor in the headliner of UFC 202 in August of 2016.

Current UFC ‘champ champ’ Henry Cejudo is not happy that fans and analysts are touting Valentina Shevchenko as the most dominant MMA champion in the world. The UFC’s reigning men’s flyweight and bantamweight world champion, Cejudo (15-2 MMA), recently took to Twitter where he sent the following message to ‘The Bullet’.

Mike Perry took to social media to share a photo of himself in the hospital following his ‘Fight of the Night’ against Vicente Luque at UFC Uruguay. Perry lost a hard-fought split decision and was on the wrong end of a badly broken nose in the fight. He took to his Instagram to share a picture of his wounds, along with a message to his fans and critics.

Welterweights Vicente Luque and Mike Perry put on a show for the fans in the co-main event of UFC Uruguay, fighting to a razor-thin split decision in Luque’s favor. Both fighters were rewarded a $50,000 bonus for their efforts in the fight. In his post-fight interview with UFC color commentator Michael Bisping, Luque called his shot for his next fight. He said he wants a top-ranked opponent, and specifically mentioned Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson as a potential opponent.

One of the guest fighters at UFC Uruguay was welterweight star Jorge Masivdal, and the American Top Team product once again went after rival Leon Edwards during his media scrum with reporters. ‘Gamebred’ went so far as to say he would ‘murder’ Edwards inside the Octagon when and if they ever do meet. Edwards heard what Masvidal had to say, and the Brit took to Twitter to launch a rant against his arch rival.

Valentina Shevchenko said she heard the boos of the fans at UFC Uruguay during her main event fight against Liz Carmouche, but she wouldn’t let the groaning fans make her deviate from her gameplan. The UFC women’s flyweight champion spoke at the post-fight press conference following the event and discussed the booing fans, telling those who didn’t enjoy her performance they should watch the fights more carefully.
