In the main event of UFC 245, the final UFC pay-per-view of the decade, welterweight champ Kamaru Usman and challenger Colby Covington finally settled their differences. The co-main attractions of the card saw Max Holloway put up his featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski and Amanda Nunes defend her bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie. In the end, only one title changed hands as Volkanovski dethroned Holloway by decision. Usman TKO’d Covington in the fifth and Nunes dominated de Randamie for a decision win.

On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 245, Colby Covington challenged the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. “Chaos” and “The Nigerian Nightmare” battled it out for almost five whole rounds in a riveting affair. Both men landed plenty of meaningful offense, with Usman even breaking Covington’s jaw mid-way through the fight, but the both maintained their composure and fought on.

Jose Aldo has taken the time to react to his disappointing bantamweight defeat at the hands of Marlon Moraes. The two Brazilians went toe to toe at UFC 245 this past weekend in what was one of the most anticipated bouts of the night – mainly so fans could get an idea of what Aldo was going to look like at his new weight class. In the end, though, he wound up losing an incredibly close split decision to the dismay of the fans in attendance.

Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren had one of the bigger rivalries this year, yet it appears that beef has been squashed. In the lead up to their UFC 239 fight, the two traded shots at one another making their scrap one of the most highly anticipated bouts on the card. But, the fight itself did not last long, as Masvidal knocked out Askren in five seconds with a flying knee. After the bout, “Gamebred” continued his trash talk towards “Funky.”

Alexander Volkanovski believes Max Holloway deserves rematch

Last night, in the co-main event of UFC 245, Alexander Volkanovski swiped the UFC featherweight title from long-time champion Max Holloway. Post-fight, UFC President Dana White suggested he’d like to book a rematch between Volkanovski in Holloway, ideally in Volkanovski’s native Australia.

During the broadcast for Saturday’s UFC 245 card, the UFC dropped its first official promo for this anticipated McGregor vs. Cerrone fight, and it definitely serves its intended purpose.

Following a successful defense of the UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 245, UFC president Dana White says Amanda Nunes may fight at featherweight next. Nunes earned her 10th straight win inside the Octagon with a dominant decision victory over Germaine de Randamie on the main card of UFC 245. She improved her overall UFC record to an incredible 12-1 with the victory, extending her record of most wins in the UFC by a female fighter.

Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway has given his thoughts on losing his belt to Alex Volkanovski in the co-main event of UFC 245. Holloway dropped a unanimous decision to Volkanovski with the judges scoring it 48-47, 48-47 and 50-45 in favor of the challenger. The loss snapped Holloway’s long winning streak in the UFC featherweight division, and we now have a new champion at 145lbs in Volkanovski.

UFC president Dana White has shared his take on the controversial split decision in the Jose Aldo vs. Marlon Moraes fight at UFC 245. The judges scored the bout 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in favor of Moraes via split decision. It was a very controversial decision as many felt that Aldo had done enough to win at least two rounds of the fight and therefore should have been awarded the decision nod by the judges.
Urijah Faber issues statement following UFC 245 loss to Petr Yan

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber has released a statement following his brutal third-round KO loss to Petr Yan in the opening main card fight at UFC 245. Faber was beaten to the punch by his much-younger opponent for the first two round before Yan was able to connect on a massive head kick and knock Faber out in the third round. It was a devastating setback for Faber, who came out of retirement over the summer and beat Ricky Simon in an upset win at UFC Sacramento back in July to surprisingly jump back into title contention at 135lbs.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has released a second statement following his fifth-round TKO loss to Kamaru Usman in the main event of UFC 245. Covington and Usman went back-and-forth for nearly five full rounds of thrilling action before Usman was eventually able to drop Covington and finish him off with strikes. He did so with less than one minute left in the fight to defend his title successfully for the first time since winning it from Tyron Woodley earlier this year at UFC 235.

UFC bantamweight stars Petr Yan and Cody Garbrandt had to be separated backstage at UFC 245 after getting into a heated argument. In the first fight on the main pay-per-view card, Yan picked up the biggest win of his young career to date when he knocked out aging legend Urijah Faber with a head kick in the third round of their bantamweight affair. The win improves Yan’s MMA record to 14-1 with a perfect 6-0 mark in the UFC. He is currently riding a nine-fight win streak.

Tonight, UFC 245 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas offered a stacked fight card full of exciting matchups. The preliminary bout between Mike Perry and Geoff Neal was no exception, as the welterweight stars collided on the preliminary card. Mike Perry joined the UFC in 2016. Within three years, he has achieved a peppered record of wins and losses. Nevertheless, “Platinum” has proven to be one of the most entertaining welterweights in the division who delivers showstopping performances. His last fight was no different as the 28-year old went to war against Vicente Luque for fifteen minutes in August 2019. Perry ended the fight with a gruesome nose injury and a split decision loss but still proved his toughness and heart.
