Jones (28-1 MMA) and Aspinall (15-3 MMA) were of course linked to fight back in 2024, this while ‘Bones’ dawned the undisputed heavyweight title and the Brit served as interim champion. However, shortly following his stoppage victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, Jones informed Dana White and company that he had decided to retire and thus would be vacating the promotion’s heavyweight championship.

Tsarukyan was slated to challenge former lightweight champion Islam Makhachev early this year, but was forced out of the fight with an injury at the eleventh hour. It quickly became clear the incident landed him on the UFC’s naughty list, as it was revealed he would need to win another fight before challenging for the belt.

Alexander Volkanovski openly admits that he feels other fighters were “more deserving” of a title fight at UFC 325 when compared to Diego Lopes. Volkanovski (27-4 MMA) will look to defend his featherweight title in a rematch against Lopes (27-7 MMA) in the headliner of UFC 325 on February 1st in Sydney, Australia. The pair first collided at UFC 314 this past April, with ‘The Great’ ultimately regaining the then vacant featherweight strap with a unanimous decision victory.

Arman Tsarukyan was not happy to learn that Paddy Pimblett will be fighting Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324. Prior to his dominant submission victory over Dan Hooker in the headliner of last weekend’s UFC Qatar event, Tsarukyan had made it clear that he wanted to make a quick turnaround and challenge Ilia Topuria for the title in January.

In the main event, the promotion‘s interim lightweight title will be up for grabs as Paddy Pimblett takes on Justin Gaethje. An interim belt was introduced after reigning champion Ilia Topuria revealed he needed extended time off to deal with some personal issues.

On his X account @Topuriailia, the reigning UFC lightweight champion came out to put the kibosh on some of the recent rumors surrounding a potential return to the cage for him. Rumblings of a January 2026 bout defending his 155-pound crown against Paddy Pimblett kept circulating through the rumor mill until, on his personal social media, Topuria stated,

White revealed that the UFC 324 main event will be an interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett. It was also revealed that Volkanovski will be defending the UFC Featherweight Championship against Diego Lopes in a rematch at UFC 325.

For the longest time now, Lerone Murphy has been viewed as a legitimate title threat in the UFC’s featherweight division. He has been able to knock off a string of notable names, and most recently, he knocked Aaron Pico out cold. Many, including Alexander Volkanovski himself, wanted to see Lerone earn a championship opportunity off the back of that. However, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen.

One of the reasons for that, we would imagine, is because he has been able to knock out Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira across his last three fights.

Nowadays, as a veteran in mixed martial arts, it’s not quite clear as to what will be next for him.

During the meeting, which was far more cordial than anyone could have imagined, the newly-elected mayor got a glimpse at the plans for next year’s UFC White House event. The UFC White House will go down in June, and is intended to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Both Trump and UFC CEO Dana White have gradually been leaking information about the card, which is expected to be one of the biggest in MMA history. However, fans still don’t really know what the event will actually look like.
