It has been reported that Kevin Holland subdued a gunman at a restaurant shooting in the Highland Park neighborhood of Houston. Holland, 29, competes in the welterweight division of the UFC. ‘Trailblazer’ last fought at UFC 272 on March 5th where he defeated Alex Oliveira (22-12 MMA) with a TKO win in round 2.

Donald Cerrone was in attendance for UFC 272 and he has given his response to Kevin Holland’s callout. Holland was in action this past Saturday night (March 5). He shared the Octagon with Alex Oliveira on the main card of UFC 272. After a frenetic pace in the opening frame, Holland closed the show with a TKO finish in the second round.

Kevin Holland has confirmed that he’s interested in the idea of taking on MMA veteran Nick Diaz in his next fight. Things haven’t exactly gone to plan for Kevin Holland since the start of 2021. He went from 5-0 last year to 0-2 with one no contest since March, completing a pretty dramatic fall from grace. His plan now seems to be a shift down to welterweight but if that doesn’t happen, he’s also open to staying at middleweight for a bout with a very specific opponent – Nick Diaz.

It’s been an interesting year for both Nick Diaz and Kevin Holland with regards to their mixed martial arts careers, but it hasn’t necessarily been all too successful for either of them. Holland went from 5-0 in 2020 to 0-2 with one no contest to his name in 2021, cementing a fairly dramatic fall from grace. Diaz, on the other hand, made his long-awaited return to action after six years away in an entertaining defeat to Robbie Lawler.

Former UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland has announced that he will be dropping down to the welterweight division in 2022. Holland took to his social media this week to officially confirm that he is indeed dropping down to 170lbs next year. For Holland, he has competed in the welterweight division on the regional circuit in the past, but since joining the UFC he has competed at 185lbs.

Kevin Holland has been forced to withdraw from his slated rematch with Kyle Daukaus which was scheduled for UFC Fight Night 197. Holland (21-7 MMA) and Daukaus (10-2 MMA) collided earlier this month in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 38. The bout ended in controversy, as after a back and forth start the pair of middleweights clashed heads which left Kevin Holland rocked and on the canvas.

The Kevin Holland vs. Kyle Daukaus middleweight rematch has been rebooked for an upcoming UFC Fight Night card after their recent No Contest. Holland and Daukaus fought to a No Contest last weekend at UFC Vegas 38. Early in the first round, Holland and Daukaus clashed heads and it dropped Holland to the mat. He woke back up a split second later but Daukaus was able to get him into a rear-naked choke soon afterward and the fight was stopped due to a submission victory. However, the instant reply was used immediately afterward and the fight was quickly reversed to a No Contest. Thankfully, the UFC has been able to rebook the rematch in short order. According to Brett Okamoto, the rematch will take place on November 13 (via Marcel Dorff).

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland stopped an alleged car thief following a pursuit on the feet in Saginaw, Texas on Monday morning. Holland just fought Kyle Daukaus to a No Contest at UFC Vegas 38 this past Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada. He headed back to his home in Texas following the fight, but he nearly got into another one on the streets. On Monday morning, MMAjunkie.com reported that Holland stopped an alleged car thief near his home. According to Holland’s coach, Shug Dorsey, Holland was pulling into a gas station when he heard someone’s car was being stolen. The coach said that Holland then called him and said what was happening.

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland revealed that he “almost didn’t make it” to this weekend’s UFC Vegas 38 card due to visa issues. Holland returns to the Octagon this Saturday night when he takes on Kyle Daukaus in a middleweight bout. Holland is coming off of back-to-back losses to Marvin Vettori and Derek Brunson where his lack of wrestling got him beat. Following those losses, Holland took several months off to improve his game. As part of his time off, Holland traveled to California to train with Daniel Cormier. But the Dallas native felt that the trip was too far, so he wanted to train his wrestling closer to home. That’s when his management group enlisted the help of former UFC welterweight champion Johnny Hendricks to train Holland in his wrestling, and the two have spent the last several months working on his grappling.
