There, Benoit Saint-Denis scored a first-round knockout win over ‘Steamrolla’. That was his fifth victory in a row, and the lightweight contender has seemingly set his next target as Justin Gaethje.

Dustin Poirier has confirmed his interest in a potential trilogy fight against Justin Gaethje, perhaps at UFC 300 next year. Earlier this year at UFC 291, Dustin Poirier battled it out with Justin Gaethje over the BMF championship. After a competitive first round, ‘The Highlight’ was able to knock Poirier out cold with a nasty head kick.

Gaethje has always been an action fighter and someone who is willing to risk it all, but on the two occasions he’s fought for the UFC lightweight championship, he’s come up short against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.

In the main event of UFC 291, the vacant BMF title was up for grabs as Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier were set for their highly-anticipated rematch. Gaethje entered the fight coming off a majority decision win over Rafael Fiziev back in March to return to the win column. In the fight prior, he lost to Charles Oliveira for the lightweight belt.
