Coach Winkeljohn believes Jon Jones would score a late finish in proposed heavyweight fight with Francis Ngannou

Adam D Martin - March 31, 2021

Mike Winkeljohn, the striking coach of UFC superstar Jon Jones, believes his pupil will score a late finish if he fights Francis Ngannou. Jones and Ngannou are primed to fight each other if “Bones” can come together financially on a deal with the UFC. If cooler heads can prevail and the UFC and Jones can work together, then this is the fight to make. If the Jones vs. Ngannou fight does happen, then there is no doubt in the mind of Winkeljohn that Jones can finish “The Predator” late.

Francis Ngannou sends a message to Jon Jones: Get ready for the biggest challenge of your life

Adam D Martin - March 30, 2021

UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou sent a message to Jon Jones, telling him to get ready for the biggest challenge of his life. Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 to capture the promotion’s heavyweight crown, and it’s expected that he fights Jones in his first title defense. Of course, Jones is currently involved in a public battle with UFC president Dana White over fighter pay, so it’s no sure thing that fight happens. But if you ask Ngannou, he wants the UFC to get the fight done because Jones is the man that he wants to see standing across the cage from him.

Rashad Evans suggests Jon Jones is doing things “backwards” in his attempt to negotiate with the UFC

Cole Shelton - March 29, 2021

Rashad Evans believes Jon Jones and his team should’ve handled his move to heavyweight much better. After Jones vacated his light heavyweight title, he said he would be moving up to heavyweight. The plan was to face the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 this summer. However, after Ngannou became the new champ, Jones started to say the UFC needs to pay him what he wants. For Evans, he believes “Bones” gave up all his negotiating power by already vacating the belt and changing his body for a heavyweight move.

Chael Sonnen believes Jon Jones "doesn't want to fight" Francis Ngannou

Cole Shelton - March 29, 2021

In the lead-up to UFC 260, it was well known that the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 would welcome Jon Jones to the heavyweight division. It would be a massive fight, but after UFC 260 ended, it became uncertain if Jones would fight Ngannou.

Adam Martin - March 29, 2021

Jones and the UFC are currently going head-to-head over a potential Francis Ngannou superfight. Jones announced last summer that he would be moving up to heavyweight in 2021, and UFC president Dana White teased that he would be next in line to fight the winner of Ngannou vs. Stipe Miocic at UFC 260, which turned out to be Ngannou. However, after the event was over, White insinuated that Jones was scared of moving up to heavyweight to fight Ngannou and instead suggested he move down to middleweight.

Jon Jones: Still time to save Francis Ngannou fight, expects fight proposal next week

Adam Martin - March 28, 2021

UFC superstar Jon Jones says that he is supposed to be seeing a fight proposal from the world’s leading MMA organization next week. Jones was widely expected to fight the winner of UFC 260’s main event between Francis Ngannou and Stipe Miocic, which turned out to be Ngannou after he knocked the former champ out in brutal fashion in the second round to take home the title. However, following the event UFC president Dana White said that Jones won’t be getting the next title shot and that it would be Derrick Lewis who will fight Ngannou next. White also insinuated that Jones should move down to 185lbs given how dominant Ngannou was against Miocic.

Jon Jones calls Dana White's comments "a huge slap in the face" following UFC 260

Adam Martin - March 28, 2021

UFC superstar Jon Jones called UFC president Dana White’s comments “a huge slap in the face” following the events of UFC 260. The main event of UFC 260 featured UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic against challenger Francis Ngannou in a rematch. Although Miocic won the first fight between the two heavyweight rivals, the rematch was a completely different case. After a tough first round that saw Ngannou wobble Miocic with strikes and even beat him in the wrestling department, the second round saw Ngannou brutally knock the champion out. Later on, at the post-fight press conference, White suggested that Jones move down to 185lbs instead of making his planned move to the heavyweight department and fighting Ngannou next.

Adam D Martin - March 28, 2021

In response, Jones took to his Twitter and posted a series of messages where he made it clear that he wants Ngannou next. That’s the fight he wants and he wants the UFC to pay him properly for it. Adam D Martin - March 28, 2021

Miocic was stopped in the second round by Francis Ngannou in the main event of UFC 260 with punches to lose the UFC heavyweight championship. Ngannou clubbed Miocic early in the first round but he was able to survive it only to get stopped in brutal fashion in the second. Following the fight, Jones took to social media to give props to Ngannou on his performance and criticize Miocic for having a poor showing and losing his belt by KO. Dominick Reyes warns Francis Ngannou that “scrub” Jon Jones will attempt to price his way out of UFC heavyweight title fight

Adam D Martin - March 28, 2021

Dominick Reyes warned Francis Ngannou that “scrub” Jon Jones will attempt to price his way out of their UFC heavyweight title fight. Reyes and Jones met last year at UFC 247, with Jones winning a controversial unanimous decision to defend the UFC light heavyweight title. Not long ago, Jones made the decision to vacate the belt and make the move up to heavyweight. Reyes, meanwhile, went on to fight Jan Blachowicz for the vacant belt at UFC 253 and lost the fight via TKO. However, that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to throw shots at Jones anytime he gets. After all, many thought that Reyes was the uncrowned champ as many thought he beat Jones.

Adam D Martin - March 28, 2021

White even jokingly insinuated that Jones should consider moving down to 185lbs instead.

Israel Adesanya responds after Jon Jones accuses him of “acting like a girl” and “playing the victim”

Adam D Martin - March 21, 2021

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya responded after Jon Jones recently accused him of “acting like a girl” and “playing the victim.” There is no love lost between Adesanya and Jones, two of MMA’s biggest stars. After Adesanya failed in his bid to capture the UFC light heavyweight championship against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259, Jones has been extremely critical towards the middleweight champion, criticizing him for his inability to stuff the takedown and do damage off his back. Adesanya, in turn, has continued to take shots at Jones. Although a fight between these two seems to be a longshot now that Adesanya has lost to Blachowicz, that isn’t stopping both fighters from taking to their social media and continuing to chirp at each other.
