Not long ago, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo hinted at an imminent weight class change. Contrary to his previous comments, however, he’s not floating a move to lightweight. Instead, he wants to drop to bantamweight and challenge the reigning champion Henry Cejudo for gold in that division. “I sat down with everybody, did a study, and I think there’s a real possibility I can make 61kg [135 pounds],” Aldo told Brazilian website Combate (via MMAFighting). “This is the new division I want to move to, and I’m asking for the title shot right away. That’s what matters for me now. Cejudo said he’s open to (fighting) anyone, so I’m open to that. I want the opportunity to fight against him and beat him.”

UFC men’s flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo recently made a joking callout of reigning women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko, challenging her to fight for the “inter-gender” championship. The pair seem intent to rid this bizarre shtick till the wheels fall off. Over the last few days, Cejudo made a few more callouts of his would-be rival.

Urijah Faber, who recently emerged from retirement with a blitzkrieg win over Ricky Simon, is now eyeing a fight with the bantamweight division’s reigning champ Henry Cejudo. Cejudo actually called Faber out after winning the title earlier this year. Yet Faber now worries Cejudo is backing down from this callout.

Two reigning UFC champions, Valentina Shevchenko and Henry Cejudo, continue to go back and forth on Twitter over a potential ‘inter-gender’ fight. “The Bullet” Shevchenko retained her flyweight belt last week against Liz Carmouche at UFC Uruguay. Her dominant performance was enough to capture the attention of many fighters, including “Triple C”.

After his 135-pound title win over Marlon Moraes last month, Cejudo called out the likes of Dominick Cruz, Cody Garbrandt, and Faber. “The California Kid” made a successful return following a retirement that lasted over two years. He knocked out Ricky Simon in 46 seconds.

After Henry Cejudo beat Marlon Moraes at UFC 238 to become the bantamweight champion he called out a bevy of names including Urijah Faber. Then, at UFC Sacramento, “The California Kid” knocked out Ricky Simon in 46 seconds and returned the favor by calling out Cejudo. Since the callouts, many are interested in seeing that fight and even the UFC Hall of Famer said the chances of the fight happening next are very good. According to Cejudo’s manager in Ali Abdelaziz, however, he doesn’t believe Urijah Faber deserves it and instead should fight Marlon Moraes for the chance to fight the champ-champ.
