UFC legend Daniel Cormier has claimed Colby Covington is dealing with some serious injuries stemming from the Jorge Masvidal attack. Back at UFC 272 earlier this year, Colby Covington beat Jorge Masvidal in a five-round decision that, at the time, seemed to settle the feud between them. However, just a few weeks later, Masvidal caught up with Covington in a Miami steakhouse and allegedly assaulted him at the scene.

While he certainly isn’t always going to win over mixed martial arts fans, it does appear as if Colby Covington is slowly but surely but surely getting himself over with critics who once didn’t have the time of day for him. UFC President Dana White says there are a lot of directions Colby Covington can go in. Covington is the former interim UFC Welterweight Champion but he hasn’t been able to snag undisputed gold. It isn’t for a lack of effort either as Covington has gotten past plenty of worthy foes at 170 pounds but he hasn’t been able to get past the reigning titleholder, Kamaru Usman.

After Covington defeated Masvidal in the main event of UFC 272, ‘Gamebred’ was still reeling in anger with what ‘Chaos’ had to say about him and his family. With that, Masvidal allegedly jumped Covington in Miami, chipping his tooth and damaging his watch. Still, ‘Gamebred’ claims he is innocent on all charges.
