With that, Cejudo says he wants to remain active so if he can’t fight Dvalishvili, he would like to settle his bad blood against Brandon Moreno, but it would have to be at 135lbs, as he can’t see himself fighting at flyweight again.

Pantoja was originally expected to face Moreno at the end of 2021, but an injury forced the Brazilian out, allowing his native counterpart, Deiveson Figueiredo, to continue the rivalry with Moreno.

Moreno and Figueiredo shared the Octagon for the fourth time at UFC 283 this past Saturday night. Moreno landed a hook that badly swelled Figueiredo’s eye. The Octagon-side doctor took a look at the eye and determined that Figueiredo should not continue, and the fight was stopped before the fourth round could begin.

After Moreno lost to Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 270 to lose his flyweight title, he left his gym in Mexico and went to Kansas City to train under James Krause. Krause was Moreno’s head coach for his UFC 277 interim title fight which he won, but since then, Krause has been suspended due to the UFC betting scandal. With that, no UFC fighters are allowed to train under him.

After Moreno lost his trilogy fight to Deiveson Figueiredo he looked for a change in gyms and settled on Glory MMA in Missouri. According to Krause, the relationship happened throughout their time seeing each other in Vegas, and since then the two started to work with one another.

It’s uncertain if the fight will serve as the main event, but all signs point to the fight being made official soon.
