Arlovski (34-21 MMA), a former UFC heavyweight champion, will enter the contest sporting a four-fight winning streak. The 43-year-old mixed martial arts legend is coming off back-to-back split decision wins over Jared Vanderaa and Jake Collier in his most recent Octagon appearances.

Jared Vanderaa is ecstatic to get the chance to share the Octagon with Andrei Arlovski. Vanderaa was booked to fight Chris Barnett on the first card of 2022 but “Beast Boy” had to withdraw before it was made official. Shortly after, Arlovski agreed to step up on short notice to fight Vanderaa on January 15 but the promotion decided to move it to UFC 271 so they can fight in front of fans.

UFC heavyweight Carlos Felipe has accepted an 18-month suspension from USADA after his manager revealed the costs involved with his defense. Back in October, Carlos Felipe lost to Andrei Arlovski via unanimous decision to drop his professional mixed martial arts record to 11-2. It was then announced soon after that Felipe had tested positive for the anabolic agent Boldenone and its metabolites. He was fined $4,200 of his purse and $489 in prosecution fees.

The Octagon remains in Nevada for today’s UFC Vegas 40 event, a ten-bout fight card headlined by Aspen Ladd taking on Norma Dumont. Ladd (9-1 MMA) was supposed to fight two weeks ago but she was removed from that card after missing weight for her fight against Macy Chiasson at 135lbs. The 26-year-old last competed in December of 2019, where she earned a TKO victory over Yana Kunitskaya.

Originally, Sherman was supposed to fight Parker Porter, but unfortunately, due to undisclosed reasons, Porter is out of the fight. Yet, the good news for Sherman is he gets a bigger name as former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski has agreed to step up on short notice according to Fight Bananas.

UFC heavyweight veteran Andrei Arlovski showed off a nasty foot injury that happened in his last fight at UFC Vegas 19 against Tom Aspinall. Arlovski was submitted in the second round by Aspinall when the young British prospect caught the former UFC heavyweight champion in a second-round rear-naked choke. It was a tough loss for “The Pitbull,” who had looked sharp as of late with a two-fight winning streak over Tanner Boser and Philipe Lins heading into the fight with Aspinall. Unfortunately for Arlovski, the fight did not go as planned for the veteran when he was finished. To make matters worse for Arlovski, he also hurt his foot in the fight.

UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall called for a fight against fellow heavyweight prospect Chris Daukaus following his big win at UFC Vegas 19. Aspinall picked up the biggest win of his career on Saturday night when he submitted former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski via rear-naked choke in the second round. It was by far the biggest win of Aspinall’s career to date and it should land him a ranked opponent in his next fight. Although Arlovski is a quality veteran fighter who is respected around the fight game, he wasn’t in the top-15. After finishing him by second-round submission, Aspinall is hoping to fight someone ranked next, and it just so happens that the perfect opponent also fought on Saturday night. That would be Daukaus.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski issued a statement following his submission loss to prospect Tom Aspinall at UFC Vegas 19. Arlovski was riding a two-fight win steak into this bout against Aspinall, a 27-year-old British heavyweight prospect who many believe is the future of the division. Though Aspinall was a considerable favorite entering the bout, there were many out there who thought Arlovski had a good chance to pull off the upset after he defeated Tanner Boser and Philipe Lins as an underdog in his last two fights. However, Aspinall is a much different beast from those two. The young heavyweight outstruck Arlovski in the first round and in the second round finished the fight with a surprising rear-naked choke submission victory.

Arlovski defeated the younger Tanner Boser via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 13. It’s the second straight win for Arlovski, who won a unanimous decision over Phillipe Lines in his prior bout. Along with a decision win over Ben Rothwell last year, Arlovski has now won three of his last four fights. Considering it’s not that long ago that he was on a five-fight losing skid, his recent run has been remarkable.

Despite being a big underdog to Boser at the sportsbooks, Arlovski won a unanimous decision over the Canadian in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 13 with scores of 29-28 across the board. Although he is 41 years old and one of the oldest fighters on the UFC roster, Arlovski continues to impress at this stage of his career. Don’t look now, but Arlovski is on a two-fight win streak and has won three of his last four fights overall.
