Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski returns to the Octagon on February 20 against rising prospect Tom Aspinall. On Tuesday, Arlovski vs. Aspinall i was officially announced for the February 20 card, which is headlined by a five-round heavyweight contest between top-five contenders Derrick Lewis and Curtis Blaydes. It’s a great matchup between a former champion in the Belarusian Arlovski and a rising star in the Brit Aspinall.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski explained his recent success with being on a two-fight winning streak at the age of 41. Arlovski defeated the younger Tanner Boser via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 13. It’s the second straight win for Arlovski, who won a unanimous decision over Phillipe Lines in his prior bout. Along with a decision win over Ben Rothwell last year, Arlovski has now won three of his last four fights. Considering it’s not that long ago that he was on a five-fight losing skid, his recent run has been remarkable.

UFC heavyweight Tanner Boser released a statement following his recent decision loss to Andrei Arlovski, admitting he blew a big opportunity. After knocking out Phillipe Lins and Raphael Pessoa in back-to-back fights, Boser was given a big step up in competition against Arlovski, the former UFC heavyweight champion. The bout between Boser and Arlovski served as the co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 13 card and it was supposed to be Boser’s coming-out party. Unfortunately, it was anything but, as Boser was on the wrong end of a close decision that the judges gave to Arlovski.

UFC heavyweight legend Andrei Arlovski released a statement following his upset win over Tanner Boser and got a shoutout from Ilya Kovalchuk. Despite being a big underdog to Boser at the sportsbooks, Arlovski won a unanimous decision over the Canadian in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 13 with scores of 29-28 across the board. Although he is 41 years old and one of the oldest fighters on the UFC roster, Arlovski continues to impress at this stage of his career. Don’t look now, but Arlovski is on a two-fight win streak and has won three of his last four fights overall.

Although he is just 4-9 and one no-contest in his last 15 contests, Arlovski is still confident he can turn back the clock and go on another run to win the heavyweight title just like George Foreman did in boxing at age 45 and defended his belt until 48.

The next closest was heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell pocketing $260,000.

Arlovski announced Monday on social media that he will take on Philipe Lins in a heavyweight bout on the new UFC Fight Night card scheduled for Wednesday, May 13. “The Pitbull” posted a photo of his bout agreement on his Instagram.

In addition, Harris’ UFC 232 split decision victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has been overturned to a no-contest. USADA announced this news in a release, explaining that Harris’ violation was the result of his use of a tainted supplement:

Round one begins and both men appear happy to stand and bang early on. Left hands connect for both fighter. Tai with a hard low kick. Arlovski responds with one of his own. Andrei with a jab. Tuivasa chases after him and wins Andrei trips and falls to the floor. Tai winds up in full mount. He postures up and looks to rain down punches but Andrei scrambles and gets back to his feet. Arlovski on the move now. He presses Tai against the cage. Tuivasa breaks free. Both men begin to stand and trade. Arlovski lands a nice right hand. That landed flush. Tai retreats and Arlovski is quick to move in. The fighters clinch and then break. The horn sounds to end round one.
