Dan Hooker will no longer be fighting Bobby Green at UFC Austin. According to New Zealand Herald’s Christopher Reive, Hooker has suffered an arm injury which has forced him to pull out of his UFC Austin co-main event fight against Bobby Green. The UFC is now reportedly looking for a new opponent to replace Hooker and fight Green on 10 days’ notice.

Dan Hooker is hoping to return to the Octagon against Mateusz Gamrot his next time out. Hooker is coming off a decision win over Jalin Turner but suffered a broken arm in the fight. It was expected that ‘The Hangman’ would be out for the rest of the year, but he has recovered ahead of schedule and is ready to return.

He went one-on-one with Grant Dawson in the main event of UFC Vegas 80. After White did a special announcement announcing several key fights on Thursday, he did it again on Friday with three fights for UFC 290 on July 8 – which serves as International Fight Week. First, White announced that Robert Whittaker will take on Dricus Du Plessis in a title eliminator bout. Now, the UFC boss announced that Dan Hooker will return at UFC 290 against Jalin Turner.

Last month in Perth, Australia, Makhachev made the first defence of his lightweight championship in front of a hostile crowd. However, on Wednesday, MMAFighting reported that Hooker has suffered a broken hand and is out of his fight. The hope is to keep Turner on the card and have a replacement opponent found.

Hooker announced to The Mac Life on Tuesday that he is set to return at UFC 285 on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada against Jalin Turner. The event will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane.
