Israel Adesanya isn’t sure if USADA is testing Paulo Costa ahead of their title fight at UFC 253. Adesanya and Costa have already done a ton of media to hype up this fight. It is a massive scrap and before the pair went on SportsCenter, the champion asked the Brazilian when is the last time he was tested. According to “The Last Stylebender” Costa did not have an answer.

New Bellator light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson fired back after a jab from UFC president Dana White following his departure. Anderson recently asked for and was granted his release from the UFC and he immediately signed with Bellator to a lucrative contract that he says pays more than his old deal. Anderson has been vocal about not feeling respected enough by the UFC, and when the opportunity arose to become a free agent he went and took it. Anderson was a top-five ranked light heavyweight in the UFC, so this is a big signing for Bellator.

Stipe Miocic believes Francis Ngannou has earned another title shot, but he doesn’t think the result will be any different. Miocic and Ngannou first fought back at UFC 220 in January of 2018. Ngannou entered the scrap with a ton of hype behind him and many believing he would KO Miocic early. Yet, that is far from what happened as the heavyweight champ used his wrestling to dominate the fight and win every single round on every judge’s scorecard.

In the main event of UFC Vegas 7, Frankie Edgar was finally making his bantamweight debut against a top-five contender in Pedro Munhoz. It was a pivotal fight for both men. Edgar was looking to snap his two-fight losing streak and become a top contender at bantamweight with a win. For Munhoz, it was his first fight in over a year, so he was also looking to remind everyone that he’s a legit top-five bantamweight.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk believes Jan Blachowicz will defeat Dominick Reyes at UFC 253 to become the new UFC light heavyweight champion. Jedrzejczyk knows what it takes to become a champion, having reigned the UFC women’s strawweight division from 2015 to 2017. When Blachowicz fights Reyes in September for the belt that Jon Jones recently vacated, he will be more than ready to win the fight. That’s according to his long-time friend and fellow Pole Jedrzejczyk.

Pedro Munhoz feels he deserved the judges’ decision in his Saturday night, UFC on ESPN 15 bantamweight fight with Frankie Edgar. Munhoz and Edgar battled for five hard rounds in the UFC on ESPN 15 main event. At the conclusion of those five rounds, the cage-side judges awarded a split decision victory to Edgar, who was making his bantamweight debut after a long stint at featherweight.

UFC women’s flyweight Shana Dobson earned the biggest upset in UFC history when she finished Mariya Agapova at UFC on ESPN 15. After surviving a tough first round from a super-aggressive Agapova, Dobson was able to take over in the second round after Agapova began to tire from expending too much energy in the first. Sensing that momentum in the fight was changing, Dobson capitalized on her fatigued opponent as she was able to gain a dominant position on Agapova on the ground and rain down punches until the referee stepped in for the TKO victory.

UFC middleweight contender Kevin Holland announced his next fight against “The Dentist” Darren Stewart with a visit to his dentist’s office. Holland took to social media to announce that he will be fighting Stewart at the UFC Fight Night card on September 19 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The headliner for that event was officially announced this weekend by the UFC as welterweight contenders Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley will meet in a five-round grudge match. Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum says he’s interested in rematches with Brandon Vera and Fedor Emelianenko. Werdum recently became a free agent following a stunning first-round submission win over Alexander Gustafsson on Fight Island. The Brazilian is now shopping for the best offers on the open market, and he has been connected to both Bellator and ONE Championship. Of course, there’s still a small possibility he could still re-up with the UFC, but at this point, all signs are pointing to Werdum signing with one of the UFC’s rival promotions.

UFC bantamweight contender Pedro Munhoz questioned the judges in his split decision loss to Frankie Edgar at UFC on ESPN 15. Munhoz dropped a split decision to Edgar, with two judges scoring it 48-47 Edgar and one scoring it 49-46 Munhoz. It was a highly controversial decision, with the majority of the media scoring the bout in favor of Munhoz. Nevertheless, the three people that mattered had a split decision in favor of Edgar and so Munhoz takes the loss on his record.
