UFC President Dana White and numerous pro fighters weighed in after Tom Brady earned his seventh career Super Bowl tonight. Brady left his longtime home of New England last offseason and signed with the NFC’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 43-year-old quarterback led the franchise to its first playoff appearance since 2003 this postseason.

Paulo Costa has trimmed down considerably following his loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 253 this past September. Costa and Adesanya squared off for the promotions middleweight championship September 27 on Fight Island. Both men had entered the highly anticipated matchups sporting perfect professional records.

Mixed martial arts veteran Chris Leben says he would consider returning to fighting for a bout with YouTube sensation Jake Paul. Leben (22-12 MMA, 3-1 BK) returned to action at Friday’s BKFC KnuckleMania event for a highly anticipated showdown with Quentin Henry. Prior to the contest, ‘The Crippler’ had announced that his bout with ‘The Hero’ would be the final fight of his combat sports career.

Alexandre Pantoja called for a rematch against UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo following his win over Manel Kape at UFC Vegas 18. Pantoja won a hard-fought unanimous decision over Kape in a closely-contested flyweight bout on the UFC Vegas 18 main card. It was a big win for Pantoja, who improved to 7-3 overall in the UFC by taking out the former RIZIN champ Kape. Pantoja was already the No. 5 ranked flyweight coming into the bout and figures to remain there following this win. Entrenched as one of the top contenders at 125lbs, Pantoja is aiming for the top prize, and that’s a rematch with the champion Figueiredo.
Tyron Woodley opens as big underdog to Vicente Luque at UFC 260

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley opened up as a big betting underdog against Vicente Luque for their upcoming fight at UFC 260. Woodley has lost his last three fights to Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman. Not only did he lose those fights, but Burns and Usman shut him out on the scorecards and Covington finished him with TKO. Considering he was the UFC welterweight champion just two years ago, it’s been an incredible fall from grace for Woodley. But despite the recent win streak he has vowed to keep fighting, and the UFC recently booked him to take on Luque at UFC 260. That event takes place on March 27.

Lightweight Devonte Smith revealed that his celebration plans after his big win at UFC Vegas 18 are to “get blazed, chill, and play UFC.” Smith was making his comeback to the Octagon after over a year away from the cage following a shocking upset KO loss to Khama Worthy at UFC 241 in August 2019. Not long after losing that fight, Smith suffered a tear to his Achilles tendon in training and he’s been on the shelf ever since. To make matters worse, Smith dealt with a personal tragedy as his sister was shot and killed in July 2020. But the 27-year-old Ohio native persevered through all of it and managed to make it back to the Octagon on Saturday.

Jouban was one of the many fighters that Perry called out in a series of social media posts. In response to the tweet, Jouban politely declined Perry’s callout, but not because he isn’t interested in the challenge. Instead, it’s because he might be retiring from MMA. UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush apologized to UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby for his post-fight tirade following his win at UFC Vegas 18. Dariush defeated Diego Ferreira via a controversial split decision in a tremendous back-and-forth bout that won each man 50k each for “Fight of the Night.” It was a fantastic fight that saw both men show off their striking and grappling skills, but Dariush appeared to have the advantage and managed to sneak out with the split decision nod.

UFC heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov released a statement following his TKO win over Alistair Overeem in the main event of UFC Vegas 18. Volkov put on a striking clinic on Saturday night as he was able to utilize technical striking to break the guard of Overeem and eventually put him away with punches in the second round. It was an incredible victory by Volkov, who should move into the top-five in the UFC heavyweight division with the win. UFC flyweight contender Brandon Royval took to social media to reveal that someone broke into his house and left behind their shoes in it. Royval is one of the top flyweight fighters in the UFC and overall has a 2-1 record inside the Octagon since making his promotional debut in 2020. While Royval is used to dealing with danger inside the cage, having it happen inside the comfort of his own home wasn’t expected. So it was a big surprise when Royval took to his social media on Saturday and revealed to his fans that an intruder had broken into his home, leaving his shoes inside his house. Oliveira is currently riding an eight-fight win streak which is second in the UFC lightweight division behind only champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. With the champ likely set to retire and vacate his belt any day now, there has been much talk about who would be the two fighters in a vacant title fight. While originally it seemed like Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier was the fight to make, in recent days it feels like Oliveira has somehow become an afterthought at 155lbs despite his incredible dominance.

UFC president Dana White reacted to Cory Sandhagen knocking out Frankie Edgar with a flying knee in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 18. With a potential UFC bantamweight title shot on the line, Sandhagen needed to make a good impression with White and the UFC matchmakers watching intently. He did just that and more when he landed an incredible flying knee right to the chin of Edgar, knocking him out cold. It was one of the best knockouts of the year thus far, and it could be just what the doctor ordered for Sandhagen to get his title shot, as White was impressed by the finish. Tonight’s UFC Vegas 18 event was headlined by a key heavyweight contest featuring Alistair Overeem taking on Alexander Volkov. Overeem (47-18 MMA) entered tonight’s event with aspirations of going on one final title run. The former Strikeforce and DREAM heavyweight champion had won two fights in a row and four of his past five overall heading into his collision with Volkov. In his most previous effort this past September, Alistair Overeem had picked up a fifth round TKO victory over Augusto Sakai.
