Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is getting sick and tired of being pestered by Bellator fighter Dillon Danis. The verbal sparring between Bisping and Danis began last weekend during the UFC Vegas 25 broadcast. ‘The Count’, who was on commentary duties last Saturday, had replied to one fight fans criticism with a message of “Why don’t you cry about it?”.

Jose Augusto has issued a classy statement following his second round knockout loss to Anthony Johnson at last night’s Bellator 258 event. Augusto (7-3 MMA) had taken last night’s fight with ‘Rumble’ on short-notice, this after Johnson’s originally slated opponent Yoel Romero was forced off the card.

Michael Venom Page scored another highlight reel knockout at last night’s Bellator 258 event, destroying Derek Anderson’s nose with a head kick. Page (19-1 MMA) had entered last night’s event in Uncasville looking to extend his current winning streak to five in a row. The English standout had most previously competed in October of 2020, where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Ross Houston.
UFC Vegas 26 is down to nine fights after losing slated main card bout

Tonight’s UFC Vegas 26 event is down to a total of nine fights, this after a slated main card bout between Angela Hill and Amanda Ribas was called off. According to a report from MMAFighting’s Damon Martin, the scheduled women’s strawweight contest was scrapped after Ribas and a member of her team tested positive for Covid.

Former UFC light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones is the latest fighter to weigh in on the bizarre training practices between Diego Sanchez and Joshua Fabia. Yesterday evening a video surfaced online showing Fabia and Sanchez engaging in some very strange training practices (see that here). The wild footage quickly went viral and eventually made it’s way past Diego’s former teammate Jon Jones.

Early this evening a video surfaced online showing Fabia and Sanchez engaging in some very strange training practices (see that here). In the main event of Bellator 258, bantamweight champion, Juan Archuleta is looking for his first title defense as he battles Sergio Pettis. Juan Archuleta (25-2) is coming off a decision win over Patrick Mix to win the vacant bantamweight title back in September. Prior to that, he beat Henry Corrales to get back into the win column after losing to Patricio Pitbull for the featherweight title.

In the co-main event of Bellator 258, Anthony Johnson is set to make his promotional debut and return to MMA against short-notice replacement, Jose Augusto. The fight also serves as the quarter-finals of the light heavyweight grand prix. Anthony Johnson (22-6) is making his return after retiring after he suffered a submission loss to Daniel Cormier at UFC 210 for the UFC’s light heavyweight title. Prior to the setback, he was on a three-fight winning streak with KO wins over Glover Teixeira, Ryan Bader, and Jimi Manuwa. In his career, “Rumble” holds notable wins over Alexander Gustafsson, Phil Davis, Andrei Arlovski, and Dan Hardy. He also lost to Cormier at UFC 187 for the belt as well.

Opening up the Bellator 258 main card, Michael Page and Derek Anderson are finally set to meet. Michael Page (18-1) is on a four-fight winning streak and is set for his first fight of 2021. Last time out, he scored a decision win over Ross Houston in October, in his lone fight of 2020. In 2019, he had five fights going 4-1 with a decision win over Paul Daley and KO wins over Richard Kiely, Gianni Melillo, and Shinso Anzai. His lone loss came to Douglas Lima by KO. Page is ranked second at welterweight in the Bellator rankings.

Joshua Fabia, the coach of Diego Sanchez, has made some serious allegations against Dana White and Sean Shelby. Over the past couple of weeks, Sanchez and Fabia have been going at White and the UFC. Sanchez was then released by the promotion and White said it was due to Fabia being crazy.

UFC flyweight Ryan Benoit stumbled on the scale and his UFC Vegas 26 fight against Zarrukh Adashev was scratched after his scary weight miss. Benoit vs. Adashev was expected to take place on the evening’s preliminary card. Unfortunately, the fight was scratched during the weigh-ins after Benoit failed to make weight. During his first weigh-in attempt, “Baby Face” had to be helped to the scale and then stumbled on it. He was taken off the scale after failing to register a weight. Minutes later, he was allowed to make another attempt at weighing in, but stepped on the scale at 129lbs and once again needed help to stand. After failing to make weight, the doctors made the decision to call off the fight.

TJ Brown wants the fans to respect his and Kai Kamaka III’s fight, rather than focus on the judge’s scorecards. At UFC Vegas 25, Brown and Kamaka III had a phenomenal fight which was a back-and-forth one. When it went to the scorecards, many thought Kamaka III won, but it was a close fight. For Brown, he knew it was close but after watching it back he truly believes he won.
Fabricio Werdum says he didn't want to pull a Rousimar Palhares against Renan Ferreira at PFL 3

PFL heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum talked about the phantom tap by Renan Ferreira, saying he didn’t want to pull a Rousimar Palhares. Werdum lost via a first-round TKO after Ferreira landed a number of hammer fists on him from top position and finished him with ground and pound. However, replays after the fight showed that a triangle choke that Werdum had locked in moments earlier had caused Ferreira to tap out. The referee didn’t see the tapout and the fight continued, with Werdum losing by knockout. Considering what it means to win and lose in the tournament for the $1 million dollars, this is a big loss for Werdum and he is filing an appeal with the commission.

The UFC has removed six more fighters from its roster including bantamweight Luke Sanders, who just fought at last weekend’s event. TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter reported that the following six athletes have been removed from the UFC roster: Sanders, fellow bantamweight Anthony Birchak, featherweight Jordan Griffin, lightweight Aalon Cruz, and middleweights Bartosz Fabinski and KB Bhullar.

Former UFC light heavyweight Anthony Johnson is excited about his return to MMA at Bellator 258, saying that he wants to have “fun” fights. Johnson returns from a four-year layoff when he takes on Jose Augusto Azevedo this Friday night at Bellator 258 as part of the Bellator World Light Heavyweight Grand Prix. Johnson was originally targeted to fight Yoel Romero, but after Romero was removed due to a medical issue, Azevedo stepped up on short notice. For Johnson, it’s disappointing because he was really looking forward to throwing down and banging with Romero. But going in there and getting to mix it up with someone like Azevedo is also exciting for him.

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman says he would consider moving up to middleweight if Marvin Vettori beats Israel Adesanya at UFC 263. Usman is coming off of an amazing KO win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 to pick up his 14th straight UFC win and come within two victories of tying Anderson Silva’s promotional record for most consecutive victories. He has been talking about making a quick turnaround for this summer and taking on Michael Chiesa or Colby Covington next, but as of right now we are still waiting for the UFC to announce Usman’s next fight. He took no damage against Masvidal and seems destined for another fight in the coming months.

Fabricio Werdum released a statement following his controversial loss at PFL 3, saying that “when your opponent gives up we have to respect.” Werdum took on Renan Ferreira in the main event of Thursday’s PFL 3 event. In the first round of the fight, Werdum was able to get a takedown and get the fight to the floor. He began searching for submissions and appeared to have a triangle choke locked in. On replay, it appeared as though Ferreira tapped, and Werdum slightly loosened the grip, but the referee did not see any tap and the fight continued on. A few seconds later and Werdum was being stopped with strikes as Ferreira smashed him with hammerfists from the top as he picked up a massive upset win in the PFL 3 heavyweight regular season.
